Most Jaw-Dropping Case of Voter Fraud Yet: Conservative Kid Crushed by Chicago's 'Boss Madigan' Machine

Share

There are few things, if any, that are more important to the sanctity of American democracy than voting.

That simple fact makes it even more baffling that Democrats seem so dead-set against any sort of voter identification laws to prevent fraud.

Well, perhaps not baffling. We know Democrats have no issue with using nefarious means to win elections. Infuriating may be the more appropriate word.

But as scummy as Democrats have shown themselves to be in regards to honoring fair elections, this latest column from the Chicago Tribune shows that the left has hit an absolute new low.

Nineteen-year-old DePaul university student David Krupa, a conservative teenager studying political science and economics, had recently decided to run for alderman.

I commend Krupa for having the political initiative to become an elected member of his municipal council. He wants to work for the people, and that is no easy task.

“I’m from Clearing,” Krupa told the Tribune’s John Kass. “All I want to do is get on the ballot to address the serious issues we have, from public safety to taxes. People don’t want to say things out loud here. People who’ve challenged the 13th Ward get intimidated. You know the neighborhood.”

Unfortunately for Krupa, standing in his way was Democratic House Speaker Michael J. Madigan. He runs the 13th Ward Democratic Organization in Chicago.

As Kass notes, Madigan likes his aldermen “loyal and quiet.” Color me utterly shocked that a Democrat would want that. Krupa, by virtue of not being a mindless leftist parrot, most certainly does not fit the bill of being “loyal and quiet.”

And yet, undaunted, Krupa charged ahead with his campaign to replace incumbent alderman Marty Quinn.

To get on the ballot, Krupa was told that he would need 473 valid signatures of local residents with the Chicago Board of Elections. Krupa was able to procure 1,703 signatures.

So far, so good. Krupa had filled the prerequisite signatures needed to send the alderman vote to the American people. From there, however, things took a hard turn towards the dastardly.

According to the Tribune, political workers began going door-to-door to collect affidavits from Chicago residents revoking their signature on Krupa’s petition.

“Revocations are serious legal documents, signed and notarized. Lying on a legal document is a felony and can lead to a charge of perjury. If you’re convicted of perjury, you may not work for a government agency. And I know that there are many in the 13th Ward on the government payroll,” Kass notes in his column.

Now, we obviously don’t know enough about what exactly these political workers were trying to accomplish. I have a very strong suspicion of what their intents were, but I don’t know for certain so I won’t fully condemn their actions to undermine Krupa.

What I will condemn and question, is how in the world these revocations numbered at over 2,700. How, exactly, did they procure more revocations than signatures Krupa actually got? Insert thinking face emoji.

“They’re pretty rare, and no one can remember anything approaching this volume of filings in past cases,” election board spokesman Jim Allen told Kass. “For the board, the next step is to begin the hearings on all of the objections that have been filed against any candidates’ nominating petitions. We can’t speculate, though, on the legitimacy or any other legal questions about any of the objections or the corresponding petitions.”

Allen may not be able to, but I will gladly speculate on the “legitimacy” of these revocations. There are more revocations than there were signatures. That’s fraud.

It’s garbage like this that proves why voter registration is so important. There are agents out there that are willing to do whatever it takes to gain or consolidate power. That is despicable and not okay.

I truly feel terrible for Krupa. Hopefully he gets justice.
