It’s been a very strange year in America. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are our presidential nominees, the Chicago Cubs may actually be going to the World Series, and killer clowns have been terrifying Americans all over the place.
Police have been responding to sightings of people dressed in scary clown outfits for weeks now, and it appears that the fad has spread across the Atlantic Ocean to England.
Ashley Symes, 23, thought it would be a fun idea to dress up as a killer clown and chase people around with a baseball bat. But one of his victims didn’t share in his sense of humor and decided to fight back, the U.K. Daily Mail reported.
A video of Symes ambushing some unsuspecting victims showed that one of them, who was not named, decided to stand up to the clown and promptly head-butted him and then threw his milkshake all over him.
The person who is filming the whole thing, a friend of Symes, quickly jumped in before the brave citizen could do anything else and explains that it is just a prank.
Symes was left with a bloody nose as a result of his “prank.”
“I always wanted to do pranks, I follow a lot of American pranksters on YouTube, and with all the news stories about clowns I thought I’d do something no one in the U.K. had done,” Symes explained.
Though Symes insisted that most people found his prank funny, it probably just was one of those things that shouldn’t be done. Terrifying people at night isn’t funny at all and, as Symes found out the hard way, some people could choose to fight back.
Symes should be thankful the person who hit him wasn’t carrying a weapon, or else the results could have been much worse.
