Left Throws Fit over Christian Baker, Celebrates Gay Designer Who Refuses To Work for Melania

Share

“Sincerity makes the very least person to be of more value than the most talented hypocrite.”

That quote, most often attributed to well-known 19th century preacher Charles Spurgeon, rings particularly true today.

It’s no surprise that the far left is chock full of rampant hypocrites. What is somewhat surprising is how blatant they can be with their hypocrisy.

Case in point, everybody remembers the far-left vitriol and hate directed towards Masterpiece Cakeshop baker Jack Phillips when he refused to bake a cake celebrating a gay marriage on the basis of his Christian beliefs.

Of note, and this can’t be stressed enough, Phillips never denied the gay couple service. He was more than willing to bake them a cake, he just didn’t feel comfortable baking a cake specifically celebrating gay marriage.

Facts did not stop the far left from launching unhinged attacks on Phillips and his beliefs.

Now, if the far left decried all decisions where artistic people refused to do something that they ideologically didn’t feel comfortable with, that’s one thing. I’d disagree vehemently with that notion, but at least it would be consistent.

Of course, that’s simply not the case.

Does this kind of hypocrisy suprise you, coming from the left?

Hypocrisy once against showed itself to be a tenet of far-left liberalism when the Daily Beast published a glowing article focusing on gay fashion designer Christian Siriano.

“No, it wouldn’t make sense. I always find it funny when people ask (if I would design for a Trump supporter). I’m a young, gay fashion designer. Why would I work with them if they don’t support me? If they think I shouldn’t be able to get married, why would I dress their wife or whatever?” Siriano said.

Siriano went on to say that he could never design for Melania Trump, whom he still called “super-chic,” based on his political beliefs.

Unlike Phillips, Siriano is actively promoting exclusionary business practices and refusing service to others based on ideology beliefs.

The far left should be up in arms about this! This is discrimination! It’s wrong to refuse service based on personal beliefs!

Yeah, no. That obviously didn’t happen. The Daily Beast fawned over Siriano in its piece, calling him “a focused ball of energy, thoughts, and campy wit.”

Perhaps the most hypocritical thing of all came a few scant paragraphs after Siriano said he wouldn’t design for Trump supporters.

“Why alienate a customer? If someone walks in the door, I don’t care what or who you are. If you want to spend $10,000 on a dress, why am I telling you no? Why is anyone better than the next person?” Siriano said.

Do those on the far-left ever even listen to themselves? Apparently not.
