Letter Sent to GOP Candidate Declares 'Open Season' on Republicans

Share

Still not accepting of an election nearly two years ago, and unable to stymie President Donald Trump’s agenda through congressional obstruction and #Resistance, the ideological left seem to be more openly embracing violence.

Using threats of violence, the left seems to be trying to intimidate people on the right into being silent and acquiescing to their political demands.

In other words, the left is engaging in politically-motivated domestic terrorism and mob action, whether the liberal media will ever admit it or not.

We have seen and heard the countless threats against Trump and his family — some purely in jest, others, not so much — as well as threats against many other prominent elected Republicans. We have seen an assassination attempt against GOP members of Congress on a baseball field, and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul was viciously assaulted by a liberal neighbor while merely mowing his lawn.

Most recently, we have seen an incitement to harass members of Trump’s administration by Democrat California Rep. Maxine Waters, a threat of continued incivility until Democrats regain control by failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and a call for violence by former Obama administration Attorney General Eric Holder.

We also saw “suspicious letters” containing unknown substances mailed to the White House, the Pentagon, and the Houston headquarters of Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

Today, another “suspicious letter” requiring a hazmat team to investigate was found at the Bangor home of Republican Maine Sen. Susan Collins.

The Daily Caller just reported that a Republican woman running for a seat in the Vermont House of Representatives has also received a rather serious threat through the mail from a self-declared socialist who announced it was “open season” on Republicans and expressed a desire to rape and murder the targeted candidate.

That candidate in Vermont is Deserae Morin, and she posted the threatening letter she received — which contained a brutal and disturbing message spelled out in cut-and-pasted magazine clippings — to Facebook for all to see.

“I’ve received my first official death threat, also rape threat … And a threat to all Vermont Republicans,” wrote Morin. “My entire platform consists of protecting individual liberty, ensuring small government, reducing taxes, increasing personal choices and a deep commitment to the Constitution … Apparently these are things that make the Socialists want to kill me … How telling.”

(Caution: Explicit language and disturbing content.)

The letter itself, which was addressed simply to the formerly off-limits “C-word,” read: “We are hunting you. My comrades will kill you and the Constitution. First we will rape you for days. You will scream and know that agonizing horror. No equal rights for Republicans. Socialism is here. Open season for Republican death in Vermont. Fear our revolution. It’s time.”

In an email to The Daily Caller, Morin said, “I’m really not surprised by the letter, considering everything that is happening in our country right now.”

“We see calls for aggressiveness from prominent Democrats and acts of radical leftist violence happening regularly and with increasing intensity. But I will admit that I never expected this to happen to me. For me this is about Liberty vs Totalitarianism. This is fascism in action, subscribe to my ideology or face violence,” she continued in the email.

Morin also revealed that she suspects the person who sent the threatening letter is local to her area, given that some of the clippings used to create the letter came directly from her campaign materials.

She wrote, “That’s the part that bothers me the most. That’s the main reason why I am taking this so seriously and working with the police and the post office. It feels very real and menacing when you know the threat is so close.”

Are you ready to see consequences for these sorts of violent threats from angry leftists?

Morin also urged all voters, regardless of party or ideological affiliation, to vote in November for candidates devoted to “individual liberty and small government” — whether that candidate is Republican, Libertarian or even one of the few remaining non-progressive moderate Democrats.

If the folks who support the type of despicable nonsense contained in the threatening letter are the ones voted into power, it could very well be the death of our nation as we’ve known it.

This type of violence-threatening crap from the left absolutely needs to stop, before somebody ends up hurt or dead — a disturbing result that some seem intently focused on bringing into reality if this sort of thing is allowed to continue without consequences and repercussions … such as electoral extinction for progressive (socialist) Democrats.
