Levin Delivers Verdict on Trump Tweets: "I See Nothing Related Even Remotely to Race"

Share

President Donald Trump recently became the center of a fire-hot controversy after a series of tweets that appeared to criticize four progressive freshmen lawmakers: Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

The tweets resulted in Trump being called a racist, and the Democratic-led U.S. House is considering a formal rebuke of the president.

But Mark Levin, host of “Life, Liberty & Levin” on Fox News, doesn’t think those tweets are worthy of all the controversy.

“Having read Trump’s tweets, I see nothing related even remotely to race,” Levin tweeted Tuesday morning. “However, having read and listened to Omar, Tlaib, and AOC the last few months, including in the last few days, they’ve made repeated anti-Semitic statements, which have mostly been defended or…even ignored by most of the Democratic Party-press. AOC also accused Pelosi of racism last week, as Kamala Harris accused Biden of racism during the Democrat Party debate.”

Omar has made repeated anti-Semitic remarks, including those suggesting Jewish money was the cause of pro-Israel support within Congress. She later apologized for the comments.

Her remarks were so offensive, the leaders of her own party did in fact release a statement condemning her racist words. “As Democrats and as Americans, the entire Congress must be fully engaged in denouncing and rejecting all forms of hatred, racism, prejudice, and discrimination wherever they are encountered,” the statement read.

AOC also has been of accused of anti-Semitism several times, including by the World Jewish Daily, which reported a fundraising letter from AOC spread false propaganda that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee was “coming after Alexandria, Ilhan and Rashida.”

Do you agree with Mark Levin's comments?

“The pro-Israel lobby AIPAC has made no such statement or taken such action,” World Jewish Daily wrote. “The letter quotes an activist who has not been associated with AIPAC for several years and merely made a political prediction.”

Rep. Tlaib came under fire for a disturbing exchange in an interview where she admitted that she gets “a calming feeling” when she thinks about the Holocaust.

Levin isn’t the only one claiming Trump’s criticism of the progressive congresspersons isn’t based on race.

Republican Rep. Liz Cheney underlined the same point in a recent tweet wherein she agreed with Levin’s assessment. “Our opposition to our socialist colleagues isn’t because of their race, religion, or gender,” Cheney said. “It’s because their policies are dangerous, wrong, and would destroy America.”

While the leftist media pounces on any opportunity to smear Trump as a racist, it is in fact the anti-American policies and socialist agenda of the new Democrats that pose the imminent and substantial threat to our nation.
