Liberal Daily Beast News Site Photoshopped This Conservative Vet To Look Like Nazi
Jack Posobiec is a very controversial man. I don’t think that even Posobiec would disagree with me here. The conservative provocateur was one of the most visible figures behind the Pizzagate conspiracy theory and remains a third-rail type figure on the right.
Say what you will about the conservative activist and military vet, however, nobody’s ever said he gives the Nazi salute. They’ve questioned some of his alliances, sure. But a regular giver of the Nazi salute? Hardly.
Well, it seems The Daily Beast got a scoop in that department: Posobiec was giving the Nazi salute at a recent event. They even showed graphic photo evidence proving his despicable act.
Except the only thing that was despicable was the Photoshop job:

Yes, those do look quite different, don’t they?
I mean, there’s the pointing finger that was cropped out. Also excluded was an African-American man; I’ve never been at an event with black friends where someone gave the Nazi salute, but I think I can reliably say that the both of us — but particularly them — would be on our way out posthaste and tweeting about the fact that, you know, some waste of carbon actually gave the Nazi salute.
Posobiec told The Western Journal that the picture was taken at a rally he had helped organize in 2017; Posobiec was in the process of publicly splitting with the alt-right and the event had been aimed at ending political violence on both sides, according to Breitbart.
The image, instead, was used in an article published by The Daily Beast arguing that “(t)wo Washington, D.C. brothers accused of planning for race war had deep ties to the violent white nationalist scene, as well as to other, supposedly non-violent figures on the far right.”
It was photoshopped into a picture of Posobiec with white nationalist Richard Spencer and Charlottesville rally organizer Jason Kessler.
The ties that the article tried to prove between the brothers and Posobiec are tenuous at best, first off. Second, it’s worth noting that while Posobiec has, in the past, praised Spencer and Kessler, he’s since publicly broken with both figures over their racism, as well as with anyone involved with the racialist element of the alt-right movement — meaning that any chance that Posobiec could have radicalized the brothers is conspiratorial at best and farcical at worst.
The most compromising info they could find is that someone knew someone who knew Posobiec who said that Posobiec told them that he was all right with the anti-Semitic beliefs of the brothers in question, who he had minimal contact with. That’s third-hand information.
“As a trained information warfare officer, it’s clear what they are doing here. This is a classic Stalinist propaganda tactic,” Posobiec told The Western Journal. “Right down to the red background and addition of smoke to make the image look literally demonic.
“The most alarming and false part of this is they cropped a photo of me from an anti-Nazi rally,” he said.
“I actually held the Rally For Peace to oppose an ‘alt-right’ event happening the same day in D.C. Now The Daily Beast is just lying and photoshopping us together to fit their alternative universe narrative that is totally divorced from reality. I threw the alt-right out of my events as far back as my Deploraball and America First Rally at the RNC.
“Apparently the rules about heated rhetoric and context don’t apply if you are a conservative,” he added. “My biggest worry is that the next (Scalise shooter) James T. Hodgkinson will be radicalized by this hysteria and put myself or my family in danger.”
It’s worth noting that The Daily Beast seems awfully concerned about fake news when it’s not coming from them. Take these headlines: “Fake News Writer: Trump Won ‘Because of Me’” or “I’ve Been Making Viral Fake News for the Last Six Months. It’s Way Too Easy to Dupe the Right on the Internet.”
Apparently, it’s way too easy to dupe the left, as well.
Say what you will about Jack Posobiec and his history (and what it should mean for his place in the political firmament, or whether he should have one), this is arrantly fake news. They needed a Nazi and, well, if you fudge the facts and alter a picture, Posobiec fits the bill.
Imagine this being done with Jim Acosta. Imagine the outrage. Compare that with the utter lack of coverage this has received. The Daily Beast and its ilk love crowing about how conservatives don’t trust the media — and then they prove exactly why that trust cannot exist.
