Many of the protests against President Donald Trump that have occurred around the nation have attracted some very unsavory characters. Anarchists, socialists and vandals who just generally want to cause destruction are often seen at these protests, which occasionally turn violent.
Residents of a street in North Philadelphia were on the receiving end of vandalism by a group of roughly 30 anti-capitalist “activists” who decided to destroy windows, cars and terrorize the neighborhood to try to halt new construction, Philly.com reported.
While these punks may have been used to getting their way, the residents of the 1500 block of North Palethorp Street decided they weren’t going to sit by and watch their homes and cars be destroyed anymore. They didn’t just start cleaning up. They actually captured two of the vandals who did the damage.

“Everyone is coming out, and they are surrounding these people, and there’s the two of them completely alone. … Immediately they started changing clothes, sat on a stoop, and said they were waiting for a friend,” Amberlynn Kabana, a neighborhood resident, said.
“We held them until police arrived. … They picked the wrong spot to come in and terrorize people,” she added.
WPVI-TV reported that the two who where cornered by residents were eventually arrested by police. They were identified as Geoffrey Suchocki, 44, from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Patricia Monahan, 28, from Philadelphia.

NBC Philadephia reported that these two were part of a much large opposed to construction in the area. They are also believed to be members of the anarchist movement “Summer of Rage.”
A banner with the words “Gentrification is Death, Revolt is Life,” was found on the street after all the vandals had left. All in all, it is estimated that they caused $100,000 worth of damage.
While these morons may have hoped to cause division within the neighborhood, in reality they actually helped unite it. Residents teamed up to clean up whatever they could and to help each other out after it was all over with.
Nothing like some old-fashioned community unity to show these anarchist thugs that they will never win. They can destroy whatever they want, but at the end of they day they can’t break the American spirit.
