The picture of an accused thief’s hand being chopped off in Syria due to a judgment handed down by a court implementing Shariah law is only the latest example of the differences between the West and its Islamic enemies.
Shariah law is a religious law governing many of those who belong to, or live under the rule of, the Islamic faith.
In this case, according to the U.K. Daily Mail, the man was forced to his knees and held by others as a giant cleaver was positioned at his wrist and eventually forced down, separating his hand from his arm. The hand was placed in a white plastic bag.

This barbaric exercise is what too many Muslims in the U.S. embrace as the only law they recognize, and is the defining law of organized terrorists that are spreading across the Middle East.
Fear that Shariah Law will become intertwined with the American judicial system is so real that many have proposed laws banning Shariah from ever being codified or recognized as law, and North Carolina and Alabama have already passed bans.
Many “moderate” Muslims do not live by Shariah Law, and many critics say it makes the Muslim faith in countries where it is practiced simply a religion of fear, designed to scare subjects into complying, for fear that they will be killed or mutilated if they do not.

Terrorists claim religious justification for their terrorist acts and use Shariah as a way to scare a newly conquered population in line.
Recent public displays of implementation of the barbaric Shariah punishments for crime — like the one shown here in the Islamic State group’s “capital” of Raqqa — may be due to terrorists’ fears they might lose control of the population in territories they occupy. The U.S. Defense Department is claiming that terrorists are on the run after new efforts by American forces to combat terror in the Middle East.
