Lynch Should Be Shaking in Her Boots After Secret Service Insider's Interview

Share

If prosecutors ever decide to look at former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and her behavior in the Hillary Clinton case, one prominent former Secret Service member says Lynch should be shaking in her boots.

Since he left the Secret Service, Dan Bongino has been both a GOP candidate for Congress in 2012 and 2016 as well as a top conservative podcaster. In an appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Monday, he said Lynch could possibly be guilty of obstruction of justice for how she handled the Clinton email server investigation.

Bongino made his remarks on the day that NBC News was to air an interview with the former attorney general. The interview was ostensibly about her but ended up dealing with the controversy. The former agent said he would be watching her words closely.

“I’m going to be listening for every word out of her mouth because Loretta Lynch should be talking to a lawyer and so should Jim Comey,” Bongino said.

“They shouldn’t be talking to the American public about book sales and interviews,” he added.

Even though the investigation has fallen out of the spotlight, Bongino said that Lynch could face repercussions if her famous tarmac meeting or the Department of Justice’s investigation was inappropriately influenced by either Lynch or former FBI Director James Comey.

“I believe they may have serious criminal liability on potential obstruction of justice charges based on their handling of the Clinton case,” Bongino said.

He had a couple of questions for Lynch, too. “Number one, why did you ask him to refer, Jim Comey that is, to the investigation into the Hillary Clinton issue as a matter?” Bongino asked. “It was not a matter. It was an investigation.”

“Secondly, what did you do to authenticate the information that came in on the dossier, the Department of Justice had a role in that,” he added.

“What did she do? What did she know and when did she know it? She may be in real trouble here.”

Do you think that Loretta Lynch should be charged with a crime?

As for the interview itself, the main takeaway was that Lynch continued to insist that her infamous tarmac meeting in Phoenix with Bill Clinton was just a talk about “innocuous things” and the “issues of the day,” one of which totally, completely, swear to God wasn’t the investigation she was conducting into his wife.

“It was still 107 degrees outside and I was told he wanted to come on the plane and say hello,” Lynch said in the interview, according to the New York Daily News.

“My thought was ‘I speak to people all the time, people in public, people not in public life.'”

She added she stayed on the investigation because her lawyers told her it was okay.

“What you do is that you always consult a legal expert on whether or not recusal is required,” Lynch said. “Had it been, that’s what I would have done.”

Note to Loretta: Get new lawyers. Not only are they giving you bad advice, but you may need them sometime in the near future.
