Man Attacking Restaurant Employee Gets Put in His Place by Her Gun-Wielding Co-Worker

Share

A restaurant employee with a concealed weapon is being credited with stopping a brutal attack on her co-worker.

The incident happened on June 29 in Milwaukee, but police just released the video late last week in hopes of finding the perpetrator.

According to WTMJ-TV, the attack occurred at the George Webb restaurant in the Muskego Way section of the city.

In the video, a man can be seen walking behind the counter. Almost immediately, he punched a cook in the face.

What the man didn’t know, however, is that the employee behind the cook was concealed-carrying. She pointed a weapon at the man. He backed off as he continued to argue with the woman, who kept the gun trained on him.

Here is the video, which we must warn you is graphic. Viewer discretion is advised:

The cook was seriously injured in the attack and was transported to a local hospital.

She’s since left her position at the restaurant.

Do you support the right to conceal carry?

“One can only imagine what might have occurred if that employee had not pulled out her weapon,” Milwaukee Alderman Bob Donovan, who sent the video to WTMJ, told the station. “Sadly, I’m told the co-worker quit her job shortly after the incident.

“And can you really blame her for quitting? This is just sickening and I am tired of this crap happening in my district and in too many other neighborhoods across Milwaukee,” he added.

Police are currently searching for a “known suspect.” There’s no word on motive, although given the man’s behavior, it seems clear he wasn’t interested in a robbery.

In a Friday statement, George Webb restaurants acknowledged the incident and said the chain is “working with our team, and local law enforcement.”

“We were alerted to an incident that took place at our Mitchell Street location on June 29 and are working directly with the injured employee, store manager and franchise owner to review the events,” the statement read.

“The safety and security of our employees and patrons is our top priority. We are working with our team, and local law enforcement to assess current security measures and determine next steps.”

“It is sickening to see this unsuspecting worker assaulted so brutally by this individual,” Donovan said in a news release.  “It was an unprovoked attack and I am asking anyone with information to please contact MPD immediately at 414-935-7360 so we can get him off the street and behind bars where he belongs.”

This is why you have a concealed-carry license, particularly if you’re an employee in an establishment that might be a target for violence.

Interestingly enough, Alderman Donovan was a candidate for mayor back in 2016, when he was endorsed by the Republican Party in a non-partisan race — a fact the Milwaukee Democratic Party held against him.

The party that would prefer you didn’t conceal carry, or even have a gun at all, tried to paint him as crazy, calling him “(s)omeone with Scott Walker’s ideas and Donald Trump’s erratic behavior” and said that he “has made a career of grandstanding on public safety issues.”

Well, judging by this video, he isn’t quite “grandstanding” so much as acknowledging a grim reality in a city that sees its share of crime. And, if the Democrats had their way and did away with all of “Scott Walker’s ideas” — which include a vigorous defense of the right to self-defense — the ending to this would have been much worse.
