A New York City plastic surgeon generously offered to perform a man’s surgery free of charge after the man suffered a brutal beating for wearing a Make America Great Again hat.
According to Breitbart, 26-year-old Jovanni Valle had just left a Milo Yiannopoulos book signing on July 7 when he went to a bar in the Lower East Side in Manhattan for a drink.
While at the bar, he dropped his MAGA hat on the floor and a woman stomped on it. When Valle confronted the woman, her boyfriend came up behind him and smashed a bottle on his face. As a result, Valle suffered a broken nose and was left with a deep gash in his cheek.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Joseph Pober heard the story and felt for Valle. The New York Post reported that even though Valle was uninsured, Pober was eager to reach out to the young man and help him.
“This is something that had to be done. When I heard about this I was shocked,” Pober said.
“It’s freedom of speech that is being attacked and assaulted. … I can’t imagine that anyone in America would viciously assault you, break your nose and slice your face with a broken beer bottle,” he continued.

Pober reached out to Valle and met with the young man to assess the extent of his injuries.
“I evaluated him and I felt that he had a severe injury of his nose and there was a blood clot underneath the suturing of his cheek and that had to be drained,” Pober noted.
Pober scheduled a surgery for Valle on July 14. During the surgery, he was able to reduce the nose fracture, drain the blood clot from his cheek, and restructure the rest of Valle’s face, which was slightly disfigured from the laceration.
According to UK’s Daily Mail, Valle’s surgery was around $30,000. Dr. Pober covered the entire cost. Valle will need additional follow up surgeries, but the doctor has promised to take care of those as well.
