In what looks to be like a scene out of the popular TV series “The Walking Dead,” a man was attacked and had his face partially eaten by another man on the island of Ibiza, off the coast of Spain in the Mediterranean.
Kenny McSween, a British national living on the island for a couple of years and working as a DJ, was attacked and bitten during an early morning confrontation in the lobby of his apartment building.
According to the U.K. Daily Mirror, the unknown assailant who chewed on McSween’s face claimed to be a cop when he first confronted the DJ.
“He approached me at the entrance to my apartment,” said McSween. “He asked me what I was doing there and I said I live here.”
McSween initially escaped the man who had confronted him, but returned shortly thereafter to find out why he had been accosted.
That is when he was suddenly pounced on by the unknown man, who savagely beat him and gnawed on his face, creating a nasty gash that required seven stitches.
The 20-minute long beating was mostly captured on the lobby’s CCTV system, and even showed a woman enter and leave the scene at various points, not stopping the attack but merely gathering up McSween and the attacker’s belongings that had been scattered about the room in the scuffle.
“I honestly thought he was going to kill me. I feel like I’ve gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson,” McSween said. “The sound of him biting me still haunts me — he was growling like a wild animal.”
“I have no idea why he did it. The police told me later he suspected I didn’t live there,” he added.
The police, upon arriving on the scene, actually handcuffed McSween and inexplicably allowed his attacker to go free.
Though he has contacted numerous authorities on the island, McSween has been given no information about the investigation into his brutal assault.
Fearing for his safety, the DJ has moved back to London, saying, “It’s got so bad that I’ve had to return to the U.K. because I genuinely feared for my life.”
The British embassy on the island is reportedly looking into the incident, and it should be noted that British police were recently there to work with the local Guardia Civil regarding a recent spike in crime involving British citizens, as both victims and criminals.
