Philonenko Gregoire may just be the luckiest man in the world right now, because if it weren’t for his prosthetic leg, he would have died during the terrorist attack at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris on Friday.
“So he was on the floor, legs bent and the terrorist kicked his leg to see if he was dead,” Gregoire’s daughter, Valentine, explained to Euronews. “My dad gasped a little bit. The man did it again, twice or three times again.”
Convinced that Gregoire was already dead, the terrorist then moved on to the next Parisian, whom he shot dead at point-blank range.

“I don’t know why I’m alive … only for my legs,” Gregoire himself said during an interview with BBC News on Monday.
A total of 89 men and women were killed that night at the Bataclan theater, while at least another 40 were killed in other terror attacks across Paris.
Two other survivors of the Bataclan theater attack were Amaury Baudoin and his girlfriend, Isobel Bowdery. According to the New York Post, the couple became physically separated when the attack began.

After Baudoin managed to make it out of the theater, he assumed the worse.
“I doubted that she is still alive,” he reportedly explained in a Facebook post Monday morning.
But thankfully, they found each other afterward.
“What a relief!” Baudoin wrote. “We were safe, for us the terror was over.”
We wish that were true, but given the Islamic State group’s recent spate of threats, the terror could conceivably just be beginning.

Until someone — anyone — unleashes the hammer on this wicked terrorist troop, which continues to amass power in the Middle East and elsewhere, there is, sadly, no end in sight.
