Marco Rubio Issues Perfect Demand to “Communist” West Point Graduate

Army Second Lieutenant Spenser Rapone made headlines when he outed himself as a communist, and now he is going to face some serious consequences. According to Florida Senator Marco Rubio, those consequences should include the nullification of his commission and requiring Rapone to pay back the Army for his education.

Senator Rubio sent a letter to acting Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy demanding that the Army nullify Rapone’s commission and pursue every available disciplinary action under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, according to The Hill.

“While I strongly believe academic institutions must respect the exchange of ideas and allow students to voice their opinions, members of the military who harbor anti-American views and express their desire to harm our country and its leaders are unfit to serve and defend our nation—and certainly should not enjoy the privilege of attending or graduating from an institution such as West Point, a taxpayer-funded military academy,” Rubio’s letter stated.

The very clearly anti-American 2nd Lt. Rapone decided somehow that he would still be afforded these privileges after posting various social media photos and sentiments. In two photos from his May 2016 graduation, Rapone can be seen wearing a T-shirt with Argentine revolutionary Che Guevera’s face on it underneath his uniform.

The second photo shows him proudly holding his military cap with the words “Communism Will Win” written on the inside.

“It is extremely concerning that someone who so often expressed such hostile views towards the United States’ system of government was able to obtain a commission,” Rubio’s letter, released on Wednesday, stated. He continued asking, “Rapone’s revolutionary ideas were harbored long before he was commissioned as an Army Second Lieutenant. Were West Point administrators or faculty aware of his views and behavior?”

Well, now that they are, Rubio has the perfect plan to deal with this miscreant.

“I respectfully request the United States Army immediately nullify Rapone’s commission and pursue all available disciplinary options under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Rapone should be required to pay back in full the cost of his education, and the United States Military Academy should consider revoking his degree,” Rubio suggested.

Rapone also publicly wrote on social media that Defense Secretary James Mattis was “evil” and “vile,” as well as a post saying that he will “happily dance” on the grave of Sen. John McCain.

“This is clearly not just a matter of law but also of common sense, and I can only assume Rapone’s unchecked behavior is an extreme embarrassment for the United States Army and the United States Military Academy,” Rubio wrote of the graduate who also stated on a private Reddit post that transgender intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning was “the example of what integrity and strength of conviction truly entails.”

Manning, of course, famously leaked classified military documents in 2009 and was convicted under the Espionage Act.

“The Army’s premier officer commissioning source must ensure an individual like Spenser Rapone is never given the opportunity to lead or serve beside American soldiers,” Rubio ended his argument.

We couldn’t agree more.
