On Thursday morning, President-elect Donald Trump and President Barack Obama met to begin the process of transitioning from the Obama White House to the Trump White House — but Obama wasn’t quite done with his agenda yet, The Washington Times reported.
Obama was expected to use executive orders in a desperate attempt to secure his legacy from a President Trump — something that had a historical precedent.
“What we’ve seen in the past is when the outgoing president is replaced by somebody from the opposition party, then in the waning months of their presidency there’s a burst of regulatory and rule-making activity,” explained political scientist William G. Howell of the University of Chicago.

In this case, many were wondering whether Obama will issue executive pardons to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her chief aide, Human Abedin.
“I do think a pardon for Huma and (Anthony) Weiner might happen,” Republican lobbyist Michael McKenna said.
Obama still has a lot he wants to accomplish during his time in office, including new regulations regarding everything from communications to the environment.

The risk with Obama using executive orders is that they can easily be undone by Trump in the first days of his presidency. Trump has already promised to undo dozens, if not hundreds, of Obama’s executive orders.
Obama only has a few weeks left before Trump will occupy the White House and begin undoing the past eight years of damage. It shouldn’t surprise any of us that Obama may be planning one last burst of executive orders while he still can.
