Maxine Waters Says Special Graphic Should Be Used When Trump Speaks
It’s always good when you start the day off and see that Maxine Waters is in the news. Her craziness is kind of like a shot of espresso: kind of exhilarating, albeit with a slight jittery feeling that some district somewhere was insane enough to send her to Congress.
It may be Friday, but Maxine Waters’ taped response to the State of the Union is still getting some notice.
You may not have caught it; most Democrats decided to tune into a drooling Kennedy speaking in front of a car.
However, Waters’ taped rebuttal on BET — she boycotted the State of the Union, which certainly should have disqualified her from responding — had one of the most hilarious Democrat lines of the night: the president should have a “Parental Advisory” special graphic on him whenever footage of him is shown.
“Whenever he appears on TV, there should be a disclaimer that says, ‘This may not be acceptable for children,’” Waters said.
Oh, burn. Burn.
Waters, known best for her bizarre rants on cable news and using the phrase “reclaiming my time” as much as possible before the meme wears out, said the president was a “terrible role model for our children.”
“Trump often works to convince dissatisfied elements in our society that all of their problems are caused by people of color,” Waters said.
Waters is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, the group that refused to stand or applaud during the State of the Union, even when low black unemployment was mentioned by the president.
Perhaps the president isn’t trying “to convince dissatisfied elements in our society that all of their problems are caused by people of color.” Instead, his opponents are trying to convince dissatisfied elements in their base their problems are caused by white people scapegoating people of color.
Just a theory.
“One speech cannot and does not make Donald Trump presidential,” Waters continued.
“He’s not presidential and he never will be presidential. He claims that he’s bringing people together but make no mistake, he is a dangerous, unprincipled, divisive, and shameful racist.”
Completely unlike you, of course, Rep. Waters.
Casting aside all of the Democrat shibboleths regarding Trump — he’s unpresidential, racist, divisive, bad for “people of color,” etc. — Waters’ speech was the most fundamentally un-serious response to the State of the Union out of the half-dozen or so official ones. Really, unless you count Michael Moore’s ridiculous pre-sponse, “The People’s State of the Union,” it was one of the most fundamentally un-serious responses, period.
Good luck with that “Parental Advisory” thing, though. I’m sure the networks will love that.
