Despite Media Hit Jobs, Sarah Sanders Voted One of the Most Admired Women in US

Share

You can almost hear the liberals howling.

When a conservative Facebook meme was spreading the word about an April survey that showed White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders as one of the most admired women in the United States, liberals must have been positive they had a chance to launch yet another round of media attacks against the Trump spokeswoman.

But when a liberal “fact-checking” site dug in, they found out their fears had come true.

In an article posted Tuesday, Snopes.com admitted that a meme posted on the Facebook page “Trump 2020” — which is not affiliated with Trump’s re-election — had its facts right when it congratulated Sanders on landing a top-10 spot on the April survey by the U.K. polling site YouGov, tied with first lady Melania Trump for ninth on the list of admired women in the U.S.

Since the “fact checkers” at Snopes have a demonstrated history of shaping the site’s conclusions to match a liberal view of the world, it must have been painful to acknowledge.

In fact, that pain comes through pretty clearly in the obviously grudging way Snopes framed the issue.

“Her consistent defense of sometimes vacillating and even contradictory statements by Trump, as well as her occasionally combative style have made her the subject of ridicule by late night talk show hosts and in ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketches. In April 2018, comedian Michelle Wolf targeted Huckabee Sanders in a controversial monologue at the White House Correspondents Association dinner,” Snopes wrote in its report.

“It might come as a surprise, then, to learn that many members of the American public admire her more than nearly any other woman in the world. In May 2018, the ‘Trump 2020’ Facebook page … made just such a claim … “

Well, “it might come as a surprise” that Sanders is admired by the American public if you’re a blinkered liberal CNN watcher who thinks the network’s White House correspondent Jim Acosta comes off as something more intelligent than the buffoon he routinely proves himself to be.

And if you think CNN/Urban Radio Network hack April Ryan is a penetrating prober of the truth, Sanders’ popularity might come as a shock.

How dismayed were liberals at the news? Check out this Twitter response to Snopes’ findings (it’s a little drastic, but there’s plenty of bitterness out there about this survey):

But if you’re a normal American who has seen Sanders deal with these two ankle-biters and their colleagues in the Washington press corps with her trademark professionalism, the news that she’s widely admired is only something to be expected.

Were you surprised Sarah Huckabee Sanders is so admired?
Actually, considering the fact that she has to deal with the childish tantrums of a grandstanding media cadre that not only loathes her boss, President Donald Trump, but goes out of its way to make Sanders’ already-difficult job even more difficult, it’s a wonder she didn’t score even higher.

It’s sad really, but liberals still live in a high-school world, where they’re the cool kids and conservatives like Sanders, with her earnest, professional dress, wide-ranging knowledge, and utterly implacable demeanor, is the geek no one likes. That’s why they think media hit jobs like the mocking skits on “Saturday Night Live,” or the scathing personal attack by a low-rent “comedian” at the White House Correspondents Association dinner actually have a bearing on how the rest of the country views women like Sanders.

But in the real world of American adulthood, it’s pros like Sanders who are keeping the machinery running — and doing their best to keep Americans outside the Beltway informed through the deceitful filter of the American mainstream media.

You can almost hear the liberals howling, but Sanders’ message is clearly getting out.
