Michael Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan, has warned that a number of top officials in the FBI may resign over the way Director James Comey apparently bungled the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s improper use a private email account.
“He’s lost a lot of support within the FBI, both from those who are retired and those inside, and I would not be surprised if you’re going to see some retirements at the highest level of the FBI going forward to show their disgust with Comey,” Reagan told Newsmax host Steve Malzberg.
Despite Comey having claimed during a House Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday that he was not a partisan hack or “weasel,” as reported by Politico, many did not seem to believe him.

They have lost faith in him, Reagan stated, adding that in regard to “his career, for all intents and purposes, he’s put the bad or black mark on it.”
And he had nobody but himself to blame. Take, for example, what he said during the hearing Wednesday.
“You can call us wrong, but don’t call us weasels … We are not weasels,” Comey said Wednesday at a House Judiciary Committee hearing. “We are honest people and … whether or not you agree with the result, this was done the way you want it to be done.”

Wrong. The investigation was not conducted in the way Congress desired, and Rep. Trey Gowdy, chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, has repeatedly stated as much.
“I have seen the get-out-of-jail-free cards,” he complained Sunday regarding the litany of immunity deals Comey granted Clinton’s top aides. “What I don’t see is the jail. Usually you strike immunity to further a prosecution. There is no prosecution. It’s just five get-out-of-jail-free cards.”
Comey appears to have badly fouled up the Clinton investigation, and if he wants to retain even a shred of dignity, he ought to just admit the truth already, rather than making excuses and whining about the mean names people now call him.
