Anyone who has ever experienced a flat tire knows the nervous feeling one gets as you pull over and get to work changing it, particularly if you are by yourself while doing so. There are worries about whether other drivers might hit them or some nefarious characters try to take advantage of them while they are preoccupied.
A single mother named Caryl Soucy most likely felt that way after she had a tire go flat on her shortly after dropping her child off at school back in August of 2016.
According to a Facebook post, Soucy quickly pulled into an empty lot next to a park and set about changing her tire with the barely adequate tools provided in her economy-sized car.

“This morning after I dropped my son off at school I heard my tire go and knew I was driving on my rim,” she wrote. “I quickly pulled over into the Jervy Gandt parking lot and began to assess the situation. I pulled out the worst jack on earth and my T bar and tried to start changing my tire.”
That is when a predominant fear of many actually transpired — a strange man she didn’t know approached her from behind while she was busy working on the car. But what happened next certainly wasn’t what she expected or feared.
“Before I knew it a police officer pulled in and came over and started helping,” she continued. “He didn’t even ask if I needed help or what happened, he just started helping me. He changed my flat faster than I’ve ever seen someone change one and considering the tools I had for him to work with, it was quite impressive.”

Soucy proceeded to identify the friendly and helpful policeman as Officer Clark and called for others to help her spread the heartwarming story that touched her life.
“Please share this around so that he will know what his kindness and compassion meant to me,” she implored. “And also so others in our community can see that there are many good cops out there protecting and serving our community. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you officer Clark!”
This mother nearly had her day ruined by a flat tire, and though she was prepared to try and fix the problem herself, she was pleasantly surprised when a police officer came along to help her out, going above and beyond his normal duties.
And in doing so, proving yet again that most cops out there are good people who simply want to protect and serve others in their community.
