MS-13's 'Frijole' Found Guilty After Sickening Nashville Attack

Share

The next time you hear someone from the left or the liberal media shoot down the need for a wall at the border, or to establish a tighter vetting system for immigrants, or to put an end to chain migration, I want you to remember the name Gerson Serrano-Ramirez.

A federal jury convicted 31-year-old Serrano-Ramirez on Monday of several charges, including violently attacking a Tennessee man in 2017. This attack was so violent and brutal, it’s almost difficult to comprehend.

Fox New said that, “Serrano-Ramirez was accused of inviting a person to his home after the man asked him to stop disruptive gang activity at a nightclub.”

After the man had gotten to his house, Serrano-Ramirez was accused of pointing an assault rifle at the suspect and then strangling him with the rifle strap. According to prosecutors, Serrano-Ramirez then sprayed bleach into the man’s eyes and placed a bag over his head to try and suffocate him.

“The 31-year-old then clamped the man’s finger with a pair of pliers while holding the rifle on him, telling the man if he told anyone about the assault that he would kill him and his mother,” Fox News reported.

Serrano-Ramirez, whose street name is Frijole, is a member of the MS-13 gang and an illegal immigrant from El Salvador.

His conviction on Monday comes after a three-day jury trial and an August 2017 indictment.

The U.S Attorney’s Office Middle District of Tennessee listed the other charges of which Serrano-Ramirez was convicted: “using physical force to tamper with a witness; being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm; illegally re-entering the United States after previously being deported; multiple counts of cocaine distribution; and multiple counts of other firearms violations.”

“The jury’s verdict will ensure that another violent criminal alien will be removed from our community for a very long period of time and he will have little, if any, chance of ever inflicting harm outside of his new home – a federal penitentiary,” said U.S. Attorney Don Cochran of the Middle District of Tennessee. “I commend the excellent work of our law enforcement partners and our prosecutors and appreciate the jury’s time and attention during this trial.”

Do you think this proves why Trump needs to build the wall?

“MS-13 is one of the most violent and dangerous gangs in America, and the conduct that occurred in this case is further evidence of the gang’s ruthlessness,” said Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, WSMZ reported. “The Department of Justice and our law enforcement colleagues are committed to combatting MS-13 here in the Middle District of Tennessee and in every other jurisdiction where the gang operates.  We will seek out members of MS-13 and other violent gangs wherever they may be and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said that evidence provided at the trial included a video of the assault that was captured on Seranno-Ramirez’s in-home security system. That video, as well as ones of him packaging and selling cocaine, “were discovered and seized during the subsequent execution of a search warrant.”

Authorities also found and seized an AK-47 assault rifle, multiple rifle magazines, 582 rounds of ammunition, body armor and a small amount of cocaine and marijuana.

Serrano-Ramirez faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years and up to life. He will be sentenced in January of 2019.

Clearly, this guy is the poster child for what is wrong with the immigration policy in our country and why President Donald Trump has called for tighter controls at the border.

Earlier this year, President Trump took a lot of flack for referring to MS-13 gang members as animals. Well, when you dig into the facts about the crimes they commit, it’s hard to argue with his characterization of them.

And since the president’s remarks caused such a stir, Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll conducted a poll to see just how the president’s remarks resonated with the populace.

Perhaps the left may be surprised at the results that were published in The Hill in March. Fifty-six percent think it was fair for the president to refer to MS-13 as animals and 52 percent think it was fair to “dehumanize” them.

The compassionate, liberal left is going to have a hard time choking down those statistics. I have a harder time trying to erase the image of that poor Tennessee man’s torture from my consciousness.

Build the wall.
