When a mugger in a blue shirt chose to pull a gun on an armed off-duty cop standing in line at an ATM, he quickly learned a brutal lesson in eternal justice.
A video of the encounter uploaded to the internet by a group that teaches “Active Self Protection” showed the thug approaching the officer, pointing a gun at him and demanding that he hand over his chain.
The sly officer immediately dropped all of his belongings and then crept away quietly, as it trying to escape from the thug.
While the mugger bent over to pick up the man’s belongings, however, the officer quickly walked around a woman to conceal himself, pulled out his own weapon and then, as the thug came into sight again, shot him. Watch:
Down the thug went like a ton of bricks, collapsing to the floor in agony. But the officer was not quite done yet. With his weapon still in hand, the trained professional surveyed the area to ensure no other threats were present.
What you just witnessed was self-defense done amazingly well. Watch this video, and then watch it again. More importantly, note the variety of techniques the officer employed, including distraction, drawing from concealment, firing quick shots and post-shooting surveillance.
Becoming as adept at self-defense as trained professionals is no easy task, but it is possible with proper study and practice. Moreover, it is highly recommended in this day and age, when far too many people feel entitled to take whatever they want, irrespective of who actually owns it.
Of course, if the gun grabbers get their way, this sort of self-defense may soon one day become impossible, but that’s a story for another day.
