We're Not Joking: Ocasio-Cortez Wants To Upgrade or Replace Every Single Building in the US

Share

Far-left New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez released her laughable “Green New Deal,” proposal Thursday morning and it’s filled with absurd, infeasible proposals and extreme socialist talking points.

Ocasio-Cortez, a self-identified socialist, has been hyping up her plan to tackle climate change for months.

In November, the 29-year-old representative claimed that her climate change plan is necessary because “people are going to die” otherwise.

Thankfully, Ocasio-Cortez has taken it upon herself to save humanity from certain doom with her genius plan.

How is Ocasio-Cortez going to save us? In part, she’s proposing upgrading or replacing every single building in the United States.

With the help of Democratic Sen. Ed Markey, Ocasio-Cortez drafted a FAQ to answer questions about her climate change plan, and it includes this ridiculous infrastructure proposal.

“Upgrade or replace every building in US for state-of-the-art energy efficiency,” the document proposed.

In other words, homes, schools and businesses must conform to Ocasio-Cortez’s energy efficiency standards or be knocked down and rebuilt.

The idea is so asinine, this almost doesn’t need to be said — but there’s no way every single building in the country could be upgraded or replaced in 10 years (yes, that’s her proposed time frame), and that’s not even mentioning the astronomical cost or the government overreach.

Do you think Ocasio-Cortez is dangerous?

“The Green New Deal resolution (is) a 10-year plan to mobilize every aspect of American society at a scale not seen since World War 2 to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and create economic prosperity for all,” the document reads.

There are several other ridiculously impossible goals outlined in the “Green New Deal” that Ocasio-Cortez expects to achieve within 10 years.

“Meet 100% of power demand through clean and renewable energy sources,” the document reads. “Repair and upgrade U.S. infrastructure. ASCE estimates this is $4.6 trillion at minimum.”

How does Ocasio-Cortez expect to pay for these utopian programs? Through a dubious “credit” program that will only deepen our rising debt crisis.

“The Federal Reserve can extend credit to power these projects and investments and new public banks can be created to extend credit. There is also space for the government to take an equity stake in projects to get a return on investment,” the document explained.

The “Green New Deal” also includes handouts and socialist policy proposals that are completely unrelated to climate change.

“Provide job training and education to all.”

“Guarantee a job with family-sustaining wages.”

The bizarre FAQ may seem like a piece of satire, but it’s not a joke.
