Official Who Called US Military "Dumb S***s" Previously Got Physical With Child
California teacher Gregory Salcido benefits a great deal from the freedoms in the United States that are guaranteed by the men and women of the country’s armed forces, but he clearly doesn’t understand that.
As reported by Joshua Caplan of The Gateway Pundit, Salcido was caught by a cellphone camera last week stating some rather disparaging thoughts about those who serve in the United States military. But in all fairness, that is his right under the United States Constitution.
Yet what in may not be considered protected speech, Salcido’s verbal body slam against the military was uttered while he was supposedly “teaching” America’s youth. To make his comments even more egregious, this took place at a taxpayer-funded public school.
Oh, and besides teaching history and U.S. government at El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, California, Salcido is also paid by the taxpayers of the city of Pico Rivera in a municipal government capacity. Amazingly enough, he’s a member of the city council.
Did I mention he’s also the ex-mayor of Pico Rivera? They sure can pick ’em out California way.
So what exactly happened to cause such an uproar? On school grounds and understood as taking place during class time, Salcido was caught on video referring to members of the military as “dumbsh***s” and “the lowest of the low.”
Specifically, “Your freakin’ stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They’re dumb***ts. They’re not high-level bankers. They’re not academic people. They’re not intellectual people.”
The Southern California Democrat “instructor” possibly missed some classes in inclusivity. “They’re the freaking lowest of our low,” he added for good measure.
According to The Gateway Pundit, the catalyst for the teacher’s rant was a student wearing a “Marine Corps” shirt.
Suffice it to say that Hizzonor probably couldn’t pilot an F-35 strike fighter, skipper a nuclear submarine or lead a fire team worth of Marines. it’s also doubtful that Salcido is aware that when loading ammunition directly into the chamber of a personal weapon, it’s the pointy-end of the bullet that goes in first.
As I ask rhetorically, would he even known how to pour urine out of a combat boot … even if the instructions were printed on the heel?
Possibly to the chagrin of this particular public servant, the Salcido saga has been picked up by KABC-TV of Los Angeles, and also by the Whittier Daily News, which serves the greater Los Angeles area.
As they say on late night TV, but wait, there’s more.
Though the miracle of modern science, a more-than slight lapse in judgement on Salcido’s part resulted in his “smacking” and degrading a somewhat chubbified student as been captured for posterity for all perpetuity. And that’s never a good thing.
As The Gateway Pundit also reported, “In 2012, Salcido was placed on leave after he was accused of hitting a student at El Rancho High School. ‘The incident has been grossly exaggerated,’ Salcido told the Los Angeles Daily News at the time.
In an attempt to make things all better, he added, “I smacked him, but not with any intent to do harm. I just told him to wake up.”
While military haters live in a world-view consisting of theory and unicorn flatulence, slamming those who serve isn’t exactly a new phenomenon — and it’s not limited to the Left Coast of the United States.
Case in point would be the recent case of a guest speaker invited to a New York City public school who handed out anti-military propaganda to students. In a bit of a more uplifting tale, just this month, Benghazi hero Kris “Tonto” Paronto gave a lesson to an anti-military troll that the troll won’t soon forget.
