Parents Outraged: Man Identifying As Woman Attacks 10-Year Old Girl in Bathroom, Gets Slap on Wrist
When a mother in Scotland had her daughter assaulted in a bathroom by an 18-year-old who identifies as a woman, she probably should have expected jail.
Instead, what the offender got was a slap on the wrist.
“The woman — who cannot be named to protect the identity of her child — voiced fury that Katie Dolatowski had been freed to serve her sentence in the community,” the U.K. Courier reported earlier this month.
“Dolatowski, 18, sexually assaulted the girl in the toilets of Morrisons, Kirkcaldy.”
“She grabbed the terrified youngster by the face, shoved her into the cubicle and ordered her to remove her trousers,” the paper noted.
“But instead of being jailed at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, Dolatowski, who identifies as a woman but was believed by her victim’s family to be a man, was given community payback and tagging orders.”
The Courier reported that when the 10-year-old left the bathroom cubicle, she was shoved back in by Dolatowski and told that her mother could be killed by a man outside. The girl managed to fight back, however, and escaped the bathroom to the safety of her family, who were waiting outside.
That’s not the only problem. The incident occurred just one month after Dolatowski was caught filming a 12-year-old girl in a supermarket bathroom — and yet, he was still spared jail. This perhaps had to do with mitigating factors presented in Dolatowski’s defense, such as the fact they had been in social care since he was three years old and suffered from mental illness.
“I have come to the conclusion that the public will be better protected by the imposition of a stringent community payback order,” Sheriff James Williamson said.
Needless to say, the girl’s mother was “very, very let down” in the system.
“I don’t have any confidence whatsoever that he will not go out and do something equally as bad or worse,” she said.
“This is something that will remain with her for the rest of her life. He was stalking the toilets. He went there specifically to attack a child.
“We were so, so lucky that nothing worse happened,” she added. “It was only her reaction that stopped that. It could have been a five-year-old child that wouldn’t have been able to fight back.”
She also didn’t put much stock in the idea that Dolatowski’s history mitigated what happened.
“A lot of people have been in care but they do not go out and assault children,” she said.
“I don’t care that he has issues or what his background is, he is a pedophile and he has been let out on a supervision order.”
I mention this all only because this is why people have a problem with single-sex bathrooms or transgender bathroom regulations. It’s not because we’re deathly afraid some transgender person might be in the loo with us. In fact, I doubt any of us could care less. The problem is that this basically presents a loophole that makes things easier for pedophiles, rapists and other sexual deviants.
In a study conducted in Great Britain, The London Times reported that “Almost 90% of reported sexual assaults, harassment and voyeurism in swimming pool and sports-centre changing rooms happen in unisex facilities.” Those facilities make up 50 percent of total changing rooms.
No, keeping bathrooms and changing rooms single-sex won’t prevent predators. However, allowing anyone to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with presents an opportunity for perverts. To say that it doesn’t happen is to ignore evidence, both anecdotal and statistical. If the left won’t acknowledge the danger, they’re putting millions of people at risk — especially if, like in this case, offenders only get a slap on the wrist.
