In case we needed any additional reason to fear the possibility of the Democrats taking over the House in 2018, House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi has vowed that Democrats would pass a $15 minimum wage “in the first 100 hours.”
That’s four days and four hours, for our readers who don’t care to do the math.
“I’ll tell you one thing for sure: We win the election and in the first 100 hours we will pass a $15 minimum wage,” said Pelosi on the video below.

I might be wrong here, but it looks as though she’s attempting to get some last seconds of attention before passing the event on to the next speaker.
Although that time frame may be unrealistic, it’s not half so outlandish as the idea of forcing some sort of $15 an hour nation minimum wage law.

Aside from the basic argument against — it’s gross government overreach, which it is — there are plenty of other reasons to hate the idea, even if you’re a liberal.
Companies won’t just say “OK!” and more than double the wages of those working for $7.25 an hour now. That’s ridiculous to even think that might happen.
What’s going to happen is that those companies will innovate to protect their profits — or even just to stay in business. They will create automated ordering machines at fast food restaurants, for example. In the long run, it will not only be cheaper, but less problematic.
These minimum wage protesters might very well just whine themselves out of some jobs.
