Pelosi's Daughter Reveals What Mom Is Really Like: She'll 'Cut Your Head Off'

Share

You can tell a lot about a person by what their friends say about them. You can tell even more from the words used by their own family to describe them.

The adult daughter of Rep. Nancy Pelosi appeared on CNN to talk about what to expect from the incoming speaker of the House. Instead of speaking in glowing terms about her famous liberal mother, however, the younger Pelosi created a somewhat disturbing image with her words.

When asked by the left-leaning network to describe how the majority leader will deal with President Donald Trump as speaker of the House, Alexandra Pelosi painted a violent and crass picture.

“She’ll cut your head off and you won’t even know you’re bleeding,” Rep. Pelosi’s daughter declared. “That’s all you need to know about her.”

Was that line supposed to instill confidence? It seemed more like something a cartel member might say about a drug lord than the glowing praise of a daughter.

Alexandra Pelosi should maybe have taken a few seconds to think about that analogy before speaking. After all, referring to cutting off the president’s bloody head is exactly what got failed liberal comedian Kathy Griffin in hot water — and even shunned by CNN — after she posed terrorist-style with a fake severed head of Trump. Not a good look.

Even setting aside the obvious connection between the disturbing imagery, Alexandra Pelosi came across as shockingly abrasive during her interview, starting with the moment she interrupted the CNN host.

“No one ever won betting against Nancy Pelosi,” the guest insisted. Then she seemed to struggle to think of actual positive things to say about her own mother.

Will Democrats be able to keep the House beyond 2020?

“You’ve got to give her credit. No matter what you think of her, you have to give her credit because … think about it. Think about all those presidents she’s endured, right. She’s been around. This is not her first rodeo.”

Apparently having “been around” in Washington for decades like a rash that won’t go away is now a major bragging right, despite the fact that voters rejected another establishment Democrat woman — Hillary Clinton — for essentially that same reason.

“She’d make you sleep at night, knowing that at least somebody in this town knows what they’re doing,” Alexandra Pelosi continued.

Yes, Rep. Pelosi is such a deep well of expertise that her fingerprints are all over the Obamacare debacle. Who can forget such pearls of wisdom like “we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it” from somebody who speaks for her entire party?

This may seem like a minor quibble, but it is very revealing that even Pelosi’s own daughter couldn’t think of anything positive or uplifting to say about the incoming speaker on national television.

For all the talk from the left about wishing for unity and civility while rejecting violent rhetoric, it sure looks like they can’t stop using that same crass discourse constantly.

Maxine Waters declared that Republicans need to be harassed in public. Eric Holder bitterly demanded that liberals “kick” conservatives when they have the chance. Now a Pelosi is openly referencing cutting off the president’s head as a warm-and-fuzzy sound bite.

The reality is that this kind of trash talk is exactly what many Americans are fed up with — from both sides of the political aisle. Democrats may have managed to retake the House, but a smug and caustic tone will only guarantee that they won’t hold it for very long.
