A Change.org petition seeking to declare ANTIFA, a self-described “anti-fascist” group, as a terrorist organization has been gaining steam after violent protests at the University of California in Berkeley.
“Terrorism is, in its broadest sense, the use of intentionally indiscriminate violence as a means to create terror or fear, in order to achieve a political, religious, or ideological aim. ANTIFA have demonstrated time and time again that they’re more than willing and able to fill these criteria,” the petition read.
After only three days, the petition had garnered more than 41,000 signatures by Sunday morning.
According to the group’s Facebook page, antifascist action “focuses on promotional, informative and practical ways of struggle against all authoritarian ideologies and groups promoting any kind of oppression, particularly against Neo-Nazism and right wing radicals.”
“Antifa combines radical left-wing and anarchist politics, revulsion at racists, sexists, homophobes, anti-Semites, and Islamophobes, with the international anti-fascist culture of taking the streets and physically confronting the brownshirts of white supremacy, whoever they may be,” organizers from the group told The Nation last month.
So-called ANTIFA protesters sparked the violence that occurred Wednesday during protests at the University of California in an attempt to shut down an event hosted by conservative Milo Yiannopoulos.
The violence against conservatives at the event was horrifying — and largely unreported by the mainstream media.
What the liberal media won’t tell you is that Trump supporters were maced and at least one man was reportedly beaten unconscious:
Protesters also trashed businesses.
And the left likes to accuse conservatives of being the violent, intolerant ones.
It certainly looks as though this group is hellbent on creating violence and terror wherever they go, turning what might have been peaceful protests into barbaric riots. They should be ashamed because they’ll never bring about the change they claim they want to see through violence.
