Plane Passengers Angry as de Blasio Delays Them on Tarmac So He Can Rush to 'The View'

There are many, many reasons to dislike Bill de Blasio.

The New York City mayor and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate hates private property, rich people and, for some reason, skyscrapers.

At Wednesday night’s Democratic debate in Detroit, de Blasio pledged that if he became president, “we will tax the hell out of the wealthy.” Yet according to the liberal mayor, he’s not the socialist — President Donald Trump is!

Back home in NYC, people have a different reason to dislike de Blasio. It’s actually pretty simple — he just doesn’t seem to have New Yorkers’ best interests at heart.

We saw this Thursday, when de Blasio was flying back home from the debate.

Unfortunately for the fellow passengers aboard his Delta flight, de Blasio was in a rush.

And he made sure they suffered as a result, according to the New York Post.

“Mayor Bill de Blasio made Delta passengers wait in their seats on the tarmac at LaGuardia Airport for 10 minutes Thursday after flying back from his less-than-stellar performance in the Detroit debate — so that he and his security detail could deplane first,” the Post reported Thursday.

“But it wasn’t a pressing matter related to City Hall or the potential firing of Eric Garner chokehold cop Daniel Pantaleo that necessitated the inconvenience to his fellow passengers — de Blasio had to rush off to tape an appearance on ABC’s ‘The View.'”

Do you think Bill de Blasio would make a good president?

Passengers were understandably upset.

“This is just a continuation of the rudeness and the bluntness of his performance last night,” one passenger told the Post.

“It’s par for the course, par for the course,” another added.

“I don’t think it’s the best thing because we all have places to go,” a third said.

According to the Post, an attendant on the flight asked passengers over the intercom to wait to get up from their seats so de Blasio’s staff and security detail at the back of the plane could get off first.

After they were off the plane, the flight attendant announced that everyone else was free to get up, prompting sarcastic responses of “Thank you!”

“Adding insult to injury, de Blasio had been one of the last passengers to board the plane — five minutes late — when it departed Detroit on Thursday morning,” the Post noted.

Of course, it’s possible de Blasio has simply given up on trying to endear himself to New Yorkers. After all, his approval rating in the city was just 29 percent in June, according to one poll.

What I can’t figure out is who, nationwide, actually likes de Blasio and wants him to be president. According to the RealClearPolitics polling average for the presidential primary, he has just 0.4 support among Democratic voters.
