Punk Who Cold-Cocked Conservative at Berkeley May Never Get a Decent Job After Latest Charges Come Out

Share

Zachary Greenberg, the man caught on video punching conservative activist Hayden Williams last month at the University of California at Berkeley, made his first court appearance Wednesday.

The 28-year-old was arrested on Friday.

Williams, who is a field representative for The Leadership Institute, was recruiting for the conservative group Turning Point USA at UC-Berkeley before he was attacked.

Williams was standing next to a table with a sign that read, “Hate Crimes Hoaxes Hurt Real Victims,” talking about the case of actor Jussie Smollett, who is accused of staging a hate crime against himself in Chicago in January, KPIX reported. Williams said he was approached by two men who were angered over the signs.

He was punched in the face by one of the men during the confrontation that followed.

Thankfully, justice is being served as Greenberg is being charged with assault, battery, and criminal threats.

Greenberg is also being charged with misdemeanor vandalism for damaging Williams’ phone.

Should they throw the book at him?

And it’s extremely likely that Greenberg will be convicted because of the video evidence against him.

Even if Greenberg doesn’t do time in the case, justice will be served because his name will likely forever be connected to the video of the assault.

It wasn’t clear what exactly Greenberg was doing that day, on the campus of a college he hasn’t attended in years.

UC-Berkeley spokeswoman Diana Harvey said Greenberg briefly attended the college in 2010, when he worked as a lab assistant in the psychology department, according to Campus Reform.

After Greenberg’s first court appearance, where he pleaded not guilty, defense attorney Alanna Coopersmith also stated that Greenberg isn’t a student a UC-Berkeley.

While Greenberg’s future is probably ruined by this foolish and stupid attack, Williams had the opportunity to meet with President Donald Trump and speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday.

“It’s great that I’m being recognized,” Williams said, “but there’s so many conservative students across the country who are facing discrimination, harassment and worse if they dare to speak up on campus.

“I’m glad we could bring this to the forefront. And I’d just like to say, if these socialists/progressives had their way, they would put our Constitution through the paper shredder in a heartbeat.”

There are many more people like Williams’ attacker out there lurking college campuses, as Williams’ is just the latest incident of many that have occurred in recent years.

As Williams wrote in a commentary piece published by USA Today on Wednesday:

“Conservative students across the country have suffered verbal and physical assault, social ostracism and even academic persecution for voicing their opinions on political topics. This is because young liberals believe that they are on the morally righteous side in a culture war and, in order to win, they must silence any form of dissent. Leftists and the progressives aspire to nothing less than to make it de facto impossible to be conservative in public.”

It’s sweet justice that the accused attacker had to go to court just days after the person he assaulted got to meet the president of the United States.
