Rancher's Honest Letter to AOC Schools Radical Rep. in Response to Insane GND Details

Share

A Kansas rancher has written a letter to Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rebuking the far-left representative’s bizarre attack on “farting cows.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal turned heads when it was released last week because of its over-the-top proposals.

The self-identified socialist proposed upgrading every building in the country, providing free college education, and offering everyone a guaranteed job with “family-sustaining wages.”

In the Green New Deal “frequently asked questions” page obtained by NPR, which is now disputed by Ocasio-Cortez, there was even an attack on “farting cows.”

“We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast,” the FAQ read.

The FAQ also suggested that ranchers and farmers would need to make changes in accordance with the socialist’s green energy agenda.

“Work with farmers and ranchers to create a sustainable, pollution and greenhouse gas free, food system that ensures universal access to healthy food and expands independent family farming,” the FAQ suggested.

But a Kansas rancher and beef producer named Brandi Buzzard Frobose has some facts liberal Democrats might not know about.

In a letter published Friday on the website Buzzard’s Beat, Frobose — who is also communications director for the Red Angus Association of America, a beef trade group — pointed out that ranchers are already efficient in reducing their environmental impact.

Should AOC be ashamed of the Green New Deal?

Frobose noted that “the U.S. produces nearly 20% of the world’s beef with only 9% of the world’s cattle.”

The letter also pointed out that the U.S. beef industry has already been reducing its greenhouse gas emissions despite the “farting cows.”

Farmers and ranchers have been able to reduce their environmental impact through constant innovation, according to Frobose.

“We are using better genetics from cattle to produce animals that yield more tasty beef using fewer inputs from water and land,” the letter stated.

Additionally, Frobose wrote, ranchers are “utilizing the best technology available to us to help us manage the health and growth of our animals so we can be efficient with our resources.”

And since liberals love recycling, Frobose had this point to make:

“Did you know that cows are great up-cyclers AND recyclers? Cows are able to take foods like sugar beet pulp and carrot tops – things that would otherwise be wasted as food production by-products – and turn those into beef. This reduces the overall amount of food waste in our great nation.

“Additionally, what other animal do you know that can take grass and turn it into a delicious steak? Seriously, cows are like superheroes.”

Obviously, Ocasio-Cortez should have consulted a rancher before carelessly slamming “farting cows” seemingly out of nowhere.

And the Frobose letter called her on that, too.

“Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, I appreciate your dedication to improving our earth and pursuing sustainable futures but I beseech you to please have a conversation with your constituents and colleagues that have an agriculture background,” she wrote.

But that would mean talking to someone who actually has experience in solving real-world problems, not just chasing leftist ideals.

The far-left won’t let reality or logistics get in the way of their impossibly lofty dreams.
