Rapper-Turned-Jihadi Killed in US Airstrike

Share

A rapper-turned-jihadi propagandist has now bitten the dust thanks to a U.S. airstrike. The airstrike wiped him out in Syria on Wednesday, reported The Guardian.

A recent pro-Islamic State terror group media group has released pictures showing rapper Denis Cuspert in a bloodied blue track suit, appearing to be very dead. This comes after Cuspert was originally thought to be dead three years earlier, but was later shown to be alive.

Cuspert, who went by the name of Abu Talha al-Almani, was known for his radical Islamist propagandist videos. He was so well-known for them that many called him the “Goebbels of ISIS.”

While Joseph Goebbels was well-known for promoting Nazi propaganda, Cuspert was known for promoting Islamic State ideology and targeting younger men who were were outcasts or loners.

“There was this whole subculture that these guys were buying into: a macho world of clandestine behavior beyond social norms,” Shiraz Maher, the deputy director of the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence at King’s College London, told The Guardian,

“A lot of the appeal to these people was based on masculinity and bravado rather than something ideological or religious,” he added.

But recruitment videos those weren’t the only videos Cuspert produced. He was also responsible for creating videos that showed him holding the heads of his his enemies.

Back in 2014, moreover, Cuspert made his way into the levels of the DOJ by seducing a turncoat translator for a Detroit-based FBI team, according to the The Washington Times. Daniela Greene ended up falling in love, and made her way to the small city in north Syria, al-Rai armed with an AK-47.

Do you think President Trump is tough enough when it comes to the war on terror?

Eventually, though, she made her way back to the U.S., where she served two years in prison. It was then that people started to hear her story.

Cuspert wasn’t always a jihadi. He got his start as a German rapper who was also known “Deso Dogg.”

“Long before Cuspert became an ISIS leader, he was a petty criminal whose rap lyrics revealed a dark and twisted mind. The son of a Ghanian father who left Cuspert’s German mother, he recorded three albums for a Berlin-based gangsta rap label and scored a minor hit with “Willkommen in meiner Welt” (Welcome to my World) in 2010,” according to Fox News.

Cuspert converted to Islam in 2007, but became more radical after he nearly died from a car accident a few years later in 2010. Two years later, Cuspert left for Egypt and eventually Syria to join the Islamic State.

Luckily, the Islamic State terrorists have continued to be beaten back since President Donald Trump has took office. The killing of this radical Islamic fanatic is yet another victory against terror the Trump administration.
