Report: Tensions Explode as Migrants Brawl. 3 Streets Shut Down. 'Battlefield'

The idea that all cultures must and will coexist in perfect harmony sounds great on paper.

Unfortunately, the reality of the matter is that that narrative probably can’t exist outside of a sappy Disney film.

In practice, sometimes the best possible case is cultures merely learn to live in peaceful tolerance of each other.

The worst case looks just about like what happened in the Gesundbrunnen district of Berlin, as reported by Journalistenwatch and translated by Voice of Europe.

The report was headlined: “Three streets in Berlin shut off as fighting migrants turn area into ‘battlefield,’” and the article makes that description sound apt.

It reportedly started when a pair of migrant women began fighting in the street, both were reportedly in their 20s.

Now, that scene is not exactly unusual on a bustling college street or in Las Vegas.

But things took a decidedly chaotic turn in Berlin.

About 50 people reportedly chose sides between the migrant women and things promptly descended into chaos.

Did Germany ask for trouble with its open-door migrant policy?

A trio of streets, Wiesenstrasse, Hochstrasse and Court Street, were all closed down as police attempted to defuse the situation.

Thirty police officers with nine vehicles and a service dog unit were called in to try and quell the situation. And it still wasn’t quite nearly enough.

To compound matters, a police officer was injured when a mob surrounded him and physically accosted him, Voice of Europe reported.

The two women who ignited the entire ordeal both ended up beting treated at local hospitals for head and neck injuries.

It wasn’t clear from the report exactly when this melee took place. However, a total of eight lawsuits were filed over the fight, Voice of Europe reported. Charges stemming from the fight included breach of the peace as well as resisting arrest.

At the end of the day, the brutality in Berlin is a direct result of Angela Merkel’s border policy.

Immigrants can bring a lot to the table. Many are hard-working individuals looking to better their lives.

But there will always be immigrants who refuse to abandon the ways of their homelands — and sometimes those ways are brutal. If Merkel wants to continue failing to address that uncomfortable reality, she’ll have to continue to deal with incidents like these.
