Sarah Sanders Schools Acosta After He Jumps To Defend Democrats: 'Sorry, Jim'

Share

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders shut down CNN reporter Jim Acosta after he defended Democrats for refusing to condemn anti-Semitic rhetoric from Democrats.

At a Monday news briefing, Acosta asked Sanders about President Donald Trump’s “rhetoric” about “Democrats and the Jewish people” in the wake of a series of incidents involving Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar that have led to accusations of anti-Semitism against the Democratic Party as a whole.

“Do you think that the president has thought, at all, going into the 2020 campaign, that the rhetoric just needs to be lowered? Whether it’s talking about Democrats, the media, immigrants,” Acosta asked.

“Or should we just plan on hearing the president use the same kind of language that we heard in 2016 and all through the first couple years of this administration?”

But Sanders saw Acosta’s trick question a mile away.

Trump’s “rhetoric” about Democrats, the media and illegal immigration shouldn’t be lowered because he’s been spot-on when it comes to those topics, and Acosta knows it.

Democrat politicians and the left-wing establishment media that supports them are terrified of Trump’s “rhetoric” because his blunt and truthful comments have already won him the presidency once.

In response to his trick question, Sanders gave Acosta a reality check on Democrat policies. She pointed out that Democrats are comfortable with “ripping babies straight from a mother’s womb or killing a baby after birth.”

“But they have a hard time condemning the type of comments from Congresswoman Omar,” Sanders continued.

Do you think the left is anti-Semitic?

“I think that is a great shame,” Sanders said. “The president has been clear on what his position is, certainly what his support is for the people and the community of Israel.”

And that’s why Trump’s “rhetoric” is harsher than Acosta would like. In the past few months, Trump has strongly condemned the left’s infanticide and anti-Semitism.

Naturally, Accosta felt called upon to defend Democrats.

“Democrats don’t hate Jewish people. That’s just silly,” Acosta said. “It’s not true.”

“I think they should call out their members by name and we’ve made that clear,” Sanders responded.

“Sorry, Jim.”

When Acosta continued to criticize Trump, Sanders finally shut him down.

“The president has been incredibly clear and consistently and repeatedly condemned hatred, bigotry, racism in all of its forms, whether it’s in America or anywhere else. And to say otherwise is simply untrue,” she said.

She then moved on to the next journalist.

Acosta claims that Democrats “don’t hate Jewish people,” and that’s no doubt true, yet the anti-Semitic flavor of Omar’s are undeniable.

Additionally, Omar’s anti-Semitic dog whistling has given her the support of anti-Semites like anti-Israel activist Linda Sarsour and former KKK grand wizard David Duke.

Still, Democrat leadership is unwilling to specifically condemn Omar, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is bending over backwards to defend the freshman congresswoman.

Acosta, who has a history of getting schooled by Sanders, was desperately trying to save face for the Democratic Party.

But Sanders wasn’t letting him get away with it.
