Pathetic and Senseless: Antifa Attacks Marine Corps Recruitment Office
As reported in John Patrick Diggins’ “The Rise and Fall of the American Left,” when radical black comedian/activist Dick Gregory met the armed militant group, the Black Panthers in the 1960s he denounced them as “a bunch of thugs.”
The same can be said of antifa, a masked group of terrorists who, in the name of battling the “fascism” of President Donald Trump, have attacked not only Trump supporters but bystanders as well.
The mindlessness of the group and its “violence-for-violence-sake” ethics was on display in Berkeley, California, earlier this month.
Encountering protesters against their street violence during an Aug. 6 demonstration, antifa thugs went on a destructive spree, smashing the windows of a Marine Corps recruiting office.
Ford Fischer, who was present at the scene, recorded antifa members breaking the recruiting office windows with a hammer.

Ford was soon surrounded by members of the group:
“After I filmed the antifa break the Marine Corps office window and throw a torch into a dumpster, one of them called a few over to confront me,” he wrote in a follow-up tweet.
“They basically told me to leave, implying attack if I didn’t. I left. ‘Get the f— back. Cops aren’t here. They won’t help you.”
According to Fox News, antifa proceeded to “burn 21 city vehicles.”
Often left out of the history of the 1960s is the nihilism and even fascist beliefs of the more terrorist-minded groups of the left.
In David Horowitz and Peter Colliers’ “Destructive Generation,” the authors described 1960s radical Bernadine Dorn praising the Manson Family for eating in the kitchen of Sharon State after murdering her.
According to the Liberty Conservative, the Black Panthers, while proclaiming themselves to be against fascism, openly admired Hitler’s Final Solution and wanted to put American “jews in ovens.”
In many ways, antifa thugs are the descendants of these movements.
Too many innocent bystanders have been beaten and too many cars firebombed for anfifa rioters to proclaim themselves as legitimate anti-fascists.
Dick Gregory saw through the rhetoric of the Black Panthers and knew they were street criminals bent on murder for its own sake (they even executed their own). The country could use that kind of honesty from Democrats about antifa mobs today.
