Drain the Swamp: State Department Caught Helping Radical Muslims Inside US

President Donald Trump has vowed to dramatically overhaul America’s Muslim refugee program to ensure that the individuals accepted into the U.S. have been thoroughly vetted.

But that didn’t stop the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations, a Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated group, from being welcomed to a a meeting with “working level officials” at the U.S. State Department, an administration official told Breitbart.

“The Department regularly hosts groups representing different constituencies in America to explain [U.S. government] policy and hear their perspective,” the official told Breitbart.

“The group was interested in U.S. policy on Jerusalem, given events on the Temple Mount/Haram al Sharif last month, and met a cross-section of working level officials from different offices in the Department,” the official added.

Innocent enough, right? Here’s where it gets complicated. Trump is reportedly deciding whether to add the Muslim Brotherhood to the State Department and Treasury list of foreign terrorist organizations.

Numerous Muslim-majority nations, including U.S. allies Saudi Arabia and Egypt, have labeled the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization, and they have called on the U.S. to follow suit.

If the State Department is allowing Brotherhood-affiliated soldiers and officials into this country, or even our government buildings, that is a major issue.

Ryan Mauro, a national security analyst with the Clarion Project, reported Sunday that the State Department hosted the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated group, where Mauro said Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was “opposed to designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.”

However, granting legitimacy to such a group goes against everything Trump has fought for as president.

Trump could deem the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization via an executive order, but garnering congressional support would be another legislative win for the president. Staunch conservatives like Sen. Ted Cruz have tried to introduce measures that would label the Brotherhood as an official terrorist organization.

Passing a bipartisan bill through Congress that declares the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates a terrorist organization would further solidify the president’s commitment to keeping the country safe, and let the State Department know we do not want Muslim Brotherhood soldiers in this country.
