A professor at Fresno State University in California has come under fire after tweets he posted in February threatening President Donald Trump and calling for the executions of Republicans resurfaced, Fox News reported.
Lars Maischak’s tweets attracted little interest in February, but Breitbart picked up on them at the beginning of April, sparking a nationwide outcry that the university was allowing this professor to continue to teach.
“To save American democracy, Trump must hang. The sooner and the higher, the better,” read one of Maischak’s more outrageous tweets.

“Has anyone started soliciting money and design drafts for a monument honoring the Trump assassin, yet?” read another.
“Justice = the execution of two Republicans for each deported immigrant,” he continued.
Maischak’s Twitter account has apparently since been deleted.

Issuing death threats against the president of the United States is a federal crime, though it was not immediately clear whether Maischak’s tweets actually qualify as death threats.
The Fresno Bee reported that the university released a statement indicating that it will comply with any federal investigation into these tweets, and it was reviewing the situation itself.
“The review of these and any other statements will be conducted in the context of rights of free expression, but also for potential direct threats of violence that may violate the law,” Fresno State President Joseph Castro stated.
For his part, Maischak tried to defend his comments and claimed that the university’s president was “allowing himself to be instrumentalized for a right-wing smear campaign.”
Maischak has a long history of outrageous statements on Twitter. It’s your typical far-left craziness that blames white people and capitalism for everything that has ever gone wrong with the world.

In a separate article, The Fresno Bee reported that Maischak issued an apology for his remarks — though he attempted to excuse them by blaming the “dark train of thought triggered by my despair over the actions of the present U.S. government.”
Just remember, this lunatic is in charge of teaching young adults and preparing them to enter the real world. Our tax dollars should not be used to pay for this man’s lunacy.
