Susan Rice's Pro-Trump Son Pressing Charges After Liberal Attacks Him at Kavanaugh Rally

Share

Many people in the United States come from families that cross political party lines. But it gains attention when at least one of those family members is prominent within one of those parties and one or more others are on the opposing side.

One attention-grabbing example of this is found in the family of former National Security Adviser for President Barack Obama, Susan Rice. A prominent Democrat, her son John David Rice-Cameron is the Stanford College Republicans president, according to The Stanford Daily student newspaper.

But his mother’s prominence within the Democratic Party and her years of service to Obama didn’t spare him from the violence continually seen from the left. The Daily reported that Rice-Cameron said he was attacked during a pro-Brett Kavanaugh rally by a liberal student.

He is now pressing charges against his alleged attacker for physical violence against him. Rice-Cameron has alleged that the fellow student “‘hit him’ and ‘forcefully pushed him back’.”

The Gateway Pundit reported that Rice-Cameron and other conservative students were “promoting an ‘innocent until proven guilty’ debate table” when the attack occurred.

A tweet went out about it that later was deleted and replaced because Rice-Cameron was identified as “Jake” rather than “John.” The replacement tweet indicates that police were called about the altercation.

The Stanford College Republicans posted to Facebook about the attack. They also noted that their simple attempt to have civil discourse regarding the presumption of innocence was subject to other attacks throughout the day.

Do you believe it is okay to physically attack someone you disagree with politically?

According to The Daily, Melinda Hernandez, 21, is accused the committing the attack on Rice-Cameron. “Hernandez and multiple other witnesses denied these allegations, claiming that she touched him without force,” The Daily reported.

The school, however, took immediate action. The Daily quoted Stanford Department of Public Safety spokesman Bill Larson as saying Hernandez was arrested at Rice-Cameron’s request and issued a citation for battery.

Additionally, the District Attorney’s Office will review the case, and Rice-Cameron told Stanford College Republicans he will be “pressing ‘full charges'” against Hernandez, according to The Daily. He initially declined to comment to the student publication but later did offer a statement.

“She got in my face and proceeded to hit me in the chest area and push me back forcefully. Nobody should be assaulted on campus, under any circumstances,” he said.

According to The Daily, Hernandez disputed the assault allegations on Facebook, writing, “This is clearly an exertion of power and privilege by (SCR). Those who know my character, from a distance or up close, know my fight in social justice lies in peace.”

However, the post could not be located upon multiple searches of the platform. It may have been removed or made private.

In a Fox News report updated in June, Rice-Cameron credited the tea party movement for his shift into conservatism. He added that his relationship with his mother has not been adversely affected by it.

“My mother and I have a great relationship, and my mother believes strongly in the free and respectful exchange of ideas,” he said. “We disagree on most of the standard Republican/Democrat disagreements. However, we agree that America is the greatest nation the world has ever seen, and thus, we believe that America has an important role to play as a force for liberty and justice on the world stage.”

His statement, made just months ago, is something everyone can learn from. And most importantly, something the violent radicals on the left should really listen to.
