Poor Ted Cruz. He thought he could take a Donald Trump supporter on after a campaign event in Indiana. Instead, he ended up getting owned badly, and it was all caught on video.
According to The Hill, the incident occurred in Marion, Indiana, one day before that state’s all-important primary.
Pro-Trump protesters had been chanting “do the math” at Cruz, pointing to the fact that Cruz lacked the ability to get the 1,237 delegates necessary to win on the first ballot.

The Texas senator decided to confront the protesters, in particular one man who refused to give his name. He had, however, traveled from Ohio and was given to calling Cruz by Trump’s favorite nickname for him — “Lyin’ Ted.”
“With all respect, Donald Trump is deceiving you, playing you for a chump,” Cruz struck back. “Ask yourself two questions: One, why is it that the mainstream media so desperately wants Donald Trump to be the Republican nominee? And why is it John Boehner supports Donald Trump?”

The protester held his ground, going after Cruz for staying in the race even though he had called on Ohio Gov. John Kasich to drop out when it became mathematically impossible for him to get 1,237 delegates.
“You’ll find out tomorrow,” the protester continued. “Indiana don’t want you.”

“Where’s your Goldman Sachs jacket? We know your wife works there,” he continued, emphasizing Cruz’s establishment ties.
When the man said his primary issue was immigration, Cruz tried to score some points on that.
“Do you know, on the wall, that Donald told The New York Times editorial board he’s not going to build a wall and he’s not going to deport anyone,” Cruz said.
That didn’t work: “You’re lying. Lyin’ Ted!” the man responded.

I suppose I have to congratulate Ted Cruz for having the cojones to try and engage protesters like this. However, he came across as a man who tried to enter a battle of wits with his guns a’blazing, only to realize too late that he was out of ammunition.
