Two teen dirtbags from Paterson, New Jersey, finally got their their much-deserved comeuppance last weekend when authorities decided to charge them with aggravated assault and endangering an injured victim.
A viral video recording of the disgusting attack showed the older 17-year-old thug hurriedly approaching the elderly man. As he got closer to the senior, his younger 16-year-old accomplice could be heard screaming words of encouragement.
“Knock him out!” the younger teen, who it appeared was the one holding the video camera, yelled.
And then it happened. The older thug ruthlessly slammed his fist into the elderly man’s face, causing him to collapse to the ground.
Thanks to the video being uploaded to the Internet and then going viral last Thursday, the police had the evidence needed to eventually track down the 16-year-old, who was taken into custody Saturday.
“This shameless act of violence was thoroughly investigated and the tireless efforts by the detectives involved is commendable,” local police director Jerry Speziale said in regard to the arrest.
Unfortunately, the older thug still remained on the loose — but hopefully not for much longer.
“The juvenile at large will continue to be sought with the same tenacity and will face swift and decisive justice for this senseless act of violence,” Speziale added
The looming question on many people’s minds was whether or not these teenage punks would be tried in the juvenile system.
Many were hopeful that the thugs — or at least the older one, who punched the senior — would instead be tossed into the adult system, where they could very well wind up being sent to jail and coming face-to-face with bullies their own size … if not way bigger.
