Three thugs just learned the hard way that some people in Texas aren’t easy victims and will shoot back at criminals with their own firearms, if given the chance.
According to KTRK, four unnamed employees of a Houston-area nightclub were leaving work in the wee hours of Monday morning when they were approached by three would-be robbers in a white car.
Two of the thugs exited the car and demanded money from the four victims, with at least one of the robbers displaying a handgun.
However, while the robbers were attempting to steal from the group of victims, one of the victims — unnamed but said to be a U.S. veteran — was able to reach into his own car and retrieve a gun, which he immediately used to shoot at the two robbers, dropping one of them on the spot.
The other thug, possibly injured, quickly jumped into the waiting car with the getaway driver, who immediately fled.
One of the victims, also a self-described veteran, described the incident: “He said, ‘Give me your money.’ I don’t carry cash so I gave him my card and my ID. As soon as he slapped them out of my hand, my brother stepped out of the car, (shot) them both twice in the chest. The guy fell to the ground. I ran to him, kicked him in his face, grabbed his gun and it turned out to be a fake gun.”
The BB gun-bearing man who was shot, 17-year-old Dante Grant, has been listed in critical condition. The man who shot him will likely not face any charges, as he was clearly acting in self-defense.
Texas has a well-deserved reputation as a state where citizens don’t take kindly to being crime victims, whether it’s folks leaving a nightclub, a woman alone in a parking lot, or a grandmother sitting outside her doctor’s office.
These idiots outside the nightclub thought they could rob a group of people using a toy gun, but quickly realized that some Texans have real guns and aren’t afraid to use them.
