Trump Hits Back After Dems' Pathetic Call To Abolish ICE

Share

What would America look like with no immigration enforcement?

Mainstream liberals may not be openly calling for that radical move quite yet, but they’re getting close: Several well-known Democrats have now declared that Immigration and Customs Enforcement should be completely disbanded, which would leave a gaping hole in the nation’s law enforcement efforts.

Getting rid of that agency isn’t just the policy of extremists, although it’s getting harder to tell the far left apart from the rest of the Democrat Party these days. According to The Daily Caller, at least nine prominent lawmakers now want to “melt ICE”… and two of them might be running for president.

“Those nine are Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (NY) and Kamala Harris (CA) — who are both considered to be ‘in the running’ for the 2020 presidential nomination — and Representatives Mark Pocan (WI), Pramila Jayapal (WA), Earl Blumenauer (OR), Nydia Velasquez (NY), Jim McGovern (MA), Raul Grijalva (AZ) and Michael Capuano (MA),” The Daily Caller reported.

It should go without saying, but every single one of the lawmakers who want ICE agents to hang up their badges is a Democrat.

Another up-and-coming politician, the openly socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, has also declared that she wants ICE to disappear.

That’s just one of her many hard-left stances, which include guaranteeing a job for every single person in America, a promise which is presumably harder to fulfill with an endless flood of undocumented immigrants. Perhaps she’ll use magic.

One person who is not on board with the plans to disband ICE is President Donald Trump. On Saturday, he focused on the issue using Twitter, and pointed out how disastrous this could be for the country.

“The Democrats are making a strong push to abolish ICE, one of the smartest, toughest and most spirited law enforcement groups of men and women that I have ever seen,” the president posted.

Do you agree with the president that disbanding ICE would be a serious mistake?

“I have watched ICE liberate towns from the grasp of MS-13 & clean out the toughest of situations. They are great!” he declared.

MS-13 is the increasingly infamous Mara Salvatrucha gang that has strong ties to the El Salvador underworld. The ruthless criminal organization, which has spread into the United States due in part to unchecked immigration, is known to rape, murder, and even behead victims as part of its ruthless lunge for power.

Trump previously found himself in mildly hot water after he called the gang “animals” during an off-the-cuff discussion of crime. Many media outlets deceptively reported the president’s comment without context, making it seem as if he was calling all immigrants “animals.”

“You are doing a fantastic job of keeping us safe by eradicating the worst criminal elements. So brave! The radical left Dems want you out. Next it will be all police. Zero chance, It will never happen!” Trump also declared on Twitter.

The tweet came just days after the president spoke out about the “doxing” — the release of personal information including home addresses — of ICE agents.

“In recent days, we’ve heard of shameless attacks on these courageous law enforcement officers. Extremist Democrat politicians have called for the complete elimination of ICE. ‘We don’t want ICE anymore,’” Trump told a fired-up crowd in Fargo, North Dakota, on Wednesday, according to Breitbart.

“You know what would happen to parts of our country, it would be overrun with the worst criminal elements you have ever seen,” the president continued.

“Left-wing activists are trying to block ICE officers from doing their jobs and publicly posting their home addresses, putting these incredible people and their families in harm’s way,” he said.

If there was any doubt that Trump was firming up his position as a law-and-order president, his next statement cleared everything up.

“These radical Democrat protesters, they really want anarchy, but the only response they will find from our government is very strong law and order. We will not tolerate attacks on our law enforcement,” he pledged to the cheering crowd.

“We will protect our law enforcement like they protect us. We will always stand proudly with our brave heroes of ICE, the Border Patrol, the sheriffs, the police.”

That’s a very good summary of the two sides that seem to be completely at odds in recent days. One side wants anarchy, perhaps not by name but certainly in practice. After all, what else do you call a refusal to enforce the law and an inability to secure the very borders that define a country?

On the other side, conservatives want to support law enforcement officers and keep known criminal elements, including MS-13 and more petty offenders, off America’s streets. Why there is even a debate over which approach is best is a mystery, but Trump has made it clear exactly where he stands.
