Trump Warns What Would Happen if Democrats Win in 2018

Share

As 2017 drew to a close, President Donald Trump took to Twitter over the final days to bypass the biased media and speak directly to the American people, as he is known to do quite often.

One of those tweets noted how well the economy has been doing since he took office, particularly the stock market, and theorized that the past year’s success would have been non-existent if failed Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton had won the 2016 election.

Another tweet right after that warned the American people that all of the gains that had been made during his first year would be virtually wiped away if the Democrats are able to win the 2018 midterm elections and regain control of the House and Senate, thereby effectively blocking further implementation of the Trump agenda.

Trump first tweeted, “If the Dems (Crooked Hillary) got elected, your stocks would be down 50% from values on Election Day. Now they have a great future – and just beginning!”

He followed that post just 10 minutes later with one that asked: “Why would smart voters want to put Democrats in Congress in 2018 Election when their policies will totally kill the great wealth created during the months since the Election. People are much better off now not to mention ISIS, VA, Judges, Strong Border, 2nd A, Tax Cuts & more?”

According to The Daily Caller, Trump’s warning against America electing a Democrat majority to Congress in the midterms is not unfounded.

Indeed, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, a prime indicator of the stock market as a whole, has hit a record high no less than 87 times since Trump was first elected, gaining more than 5000 points in that time.

On top of that, the gross domestic product, or GDP, has grown at a rate of 3 percent or higher over the past three fiscal quarters, something anti-Trump “economic experts” during former President Barack Obama’s term stated would never happen, as 2 percent growth had been deemed the “new normal.”

That GDP growth came in spite of two major hurricanes that made landfall on the U.S. mainland and caused widespread destruction and economic disruption in both Texas and Florida, as well as other states to a lesser extent — not to mention other disruptive natural disasters such as the wildfires in California and other western states.

Furthermore, the unemployment rate has dropped since Trump took office, and now sits at approximately 4 percent, as businesses with increased confidence in the economy are beginning to expand and hire more employees.

In fact, it has been reported that nearly 2 million new jobs have been created thus far in Trump’s economy, a number that will likely surge in 2018 as the full effects of the 2018 tax reform bill and deregulation are felt by businesses.

However, were Democrats to gain control of Congress and become even more emboldened in their bid to obstruct Trump’s agenda at every turn, those very real economic gains — and the vast wealth they helped create — could vanish.

This is the unfortunate reality of the current hyper-partisan nature of the president’s opposition, and something that Trump and his supporters must guard against if they wish to continue to Make America Great Again.

Please share this on Facebook and Twitter so everyone can see Trump’s warning to American voters about the danger of allowing Democrats to regain control of Congress in the 2018 midterm elections.
