Trump's Reaction to Melania Tripping in Heels Speaks Volumes to Kind of Man He Is
If you watch the news, you’ve probably seen the video of Melania Trump swatting away President Donald Trump’s hand dozens of times, maybe more. The media, it seemed, fell in love with that clip, even though there likely could have been other explanations for it.
However, have you seen the video of Melania Trump tripping and Donald Trump catching her? No? Well, that’s odd, since it’s been around almost a month now.
Yes, without hammering home the point too bluntly, it seems that the media is only interested in certain types of stories regarding the president. So, the video of Trump catching Melania didn’t get much attention when it first happened in March.
As you can see, the first couple embraces after he catches her. It’s almost as if their relationship isn’t as publicly acrimonious as the media would like to portray it as. Fancy that.
YouTube users seemed to grasp that this was a moment that showed who the president really was without the filter of the media looking at his every move.
“So nice to see a sweet normal moment without a negative commentary over the top of it,” user Andrea McBride said.
“Our President, a good man and human like everyone else,” Kirsty Voltner added.
“Thank you for this video clip,” user Hippokrates wrote. “It shows, one more time, that our President has quick reflexes, a steady, strong arm wrapped around the First Lady whom he loves. Whoever says otherwise, is either blind or plain bitter.”
Of course, one user predicted what some of the responses might be. “CNN: ‘Donald Trump recorded pushing his wife. Females everywhere outraged.'”
While there wasn’t that kind of talk, it’s worth noting that the U.K. Daily Mail, in covering the story, decided to dedicate most of it to innuendoes over how Melania Trump first got her U.S. visa.
At that time, residents of Slovenia were forced to reapply for the H-1B annually, making the EB-1 a far more convenient option for any “extraordinary” Slovenians.
The article notes that Melania had said “that she had obtained an EB-1 Visa in 2001 and through that was granted citizenship five years later, all on her own accord.
“This claim has left many puzzled over how Melania would qualify for what has become known as the ‘Einstein Visa,’ which is reserved for ‘persons with extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics,'” the article noted. “Melania was just one of six people from her country who was able to obtain an EB-1 back in 2001, making her feat all the more impressive.”
In other words: “The president caught his wife while she was falling. But enough about that. Let’s talk about how she got a visa 17 years ago.” I’m halfway surprised nobody decided to add, “… and, you know, while we’re at this, Slovenia does kind of sound like Russia when you think about it.”
For the rest of us, this is a pretty telling video — and not the way that the media would like to spin it.
