One of the key sticking points during negotiations to avoid a government shutdown on Friday was funding for President Donald Trump’s border wall — funding the Democrats refused even to consider.
Trump had requested $1.4 billion to begin construction of the wall this year, but Democrats refused to let those funds be included in the budget request, even though it was a minuscule fraction of the federal budget, CNS reported.
The funds Trump requested amount to 0.035 percent of total federal spending. Put another way, the Department of Health and Human Services spends more in 12 hours than what Trump wanted.

So Trump’s funds for a border wall, which would benefit America for years to come, would cost less than what DHS spends in a day, yet Democrats refused even to consider it.
On the other hand, The Daily Caller reported that the Energy Transitions Commission, a group that includes former Vice President Al Gore, insisted that the world needed to invest $15 trillion to stop global warming.
Many of the people in the ETC, and their public supporters, would be politically opposed to Trump’s wall, yet they seem to have no problem suggesting that the world waste trillions of dollars on something that hasn’t even been proven to be a problem.

Remember, Gore has been insisting for years that the end of the world was right around the corner because of global warming — and every year his predictions are proven wrong.
Trump’s border wall provides protection against a very real danger, and it doesn’t cost that much in the grand scheme of things. If liberals (and quite frankly Republicans as well) actually had spines, they would realize that the wall isn’t such a bad investment.
The federal government wastes tens of billions of dollars every year. What in the world could spending a small fraction of that on a border wall possibly hurt?
