Amid the biased media coverage over Tuesday morning’s shooting of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a voice of reason has emerged — and it’s one that you want to catch here as it’s unlikely it will be covered much in the mainstream media.
Mike Brown, a former U.S. Army soldier and principle instructor at Sectracon: Chicago Security Training Concepts, posted a video Wednesday in which he explained just how someone could fire a gun from his hip pocket.
Sterling was shot by police while resisting arrest. Sterling had a gun in his hip pocket, which prompted the left to claim that he couldn’t have been a threat to police officers. In some cases, some in the media even called him “unarmed.”
Brown posted a video on Facebook Wednesday that showed how a person with a gun in his pocket could, quite easily, discharge that weapon, debunking the left’s claims that Sterling was not a danger to police.
Brown then went on to urge the black community to “stop being stupid.”
“Our ancestors died, too many people have died, for you to be stupid,” he argued.
It’s easy to see why his post went viral — it had been viewed over six million times by Friday afternoon — when so much of the conversation has been bent on blaming police officers and inciting racism instead of taking a moment to use common sense and factual evidence.
Watch the entire video below but be warned about the graphic language:
It was clear that the incredibly reckless comments made by President Barack Obama as well as Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton that have blamed racism for the recent shootings of two black men by police — Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge and Philando Castile of Minnesota — have fanned the flames of violence against our police officers.
What has been the result? Five officers are dead in Dallas, Texas, and several more are wounded.
All lives matter — and so does common sense, personal responsibility and human decency.
