Tucker Skewers Illegal Alien Attorney Over Basic Constitutional Privileges

Share

In the world of professional wrestling, a “jobber” is a wrestler who is paid to lose a match. He’s there not only to lose, but to lose in such a manner that makes his opponent look as impressive as possible to his fans.

Cesar Vegas might as well add “jobber” to his resume, because the illegal immigrant attorney — not just an attorney for illegal immigrants mind  you, but an actual illegal immigrant who is an attorney — has made multiple appearances on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” and each time he takes such a beating that he makes Carlson an easy victor in their various debates.

The latest mismatch took place Monday. The topic du jour was the announcement by Philadelphia Mayor Kenney that his city would no longer share data about the people the city has arrested with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials.

“Let’s get to the real meat of this debate which is, how actually does it help the citizens?” Carlson said of the decision by Kenney, and the mayors of other cities, not to cooperate with ICE. “How does it help allowing criminals to go unpunished, or to escape federal law enforcement?”

Vargas said information about violent criminals would still be passed on to ICE, but information about those who commit less serious infractions would not — even though the immigration status of both types of criminals would be the same.

“People voted for those laws and you’re now saying that it’s immoral to enforce them. So I guess I’m the one who believes in democracy, not you,” Carlson said.

Vargas tried to counter that resistance against laws that someone feels aren’t right is a normal part of a democracy. Carlson countered by saying that picking and choosing which laws are to be enforced is not democracy, but rather anarchy.

Vargas then suggested that the decision to cooperate with ICE basically comes down to making sure someone’s constitutional rights aren’t violated.

Is enough being done to prevent illegal immigrants from voting?

“So deporting someone who is here illegally is violating his constitutional rights — that’s so insane I can’t even ….” Carlson said, flabbergasted enough he couldn’t finish his sentence.”

Every good professional wrestler will give a jobber a brief moment to try and look good — land a few innocuous blows, if you will — before coming in for the final pin. But Vargas couldn’t even make a sensible argument in his showdown with Carlson.

When Carlson asked if illegal immigrants should have access to benefits such as free health care or the right to vote, Vargas tried to make his case.

“It goes to the concept of citizenship,” Vargas said. “As a nation we have matured. From only free, landowner white people to now.”

“Don’t hit me with the race crap,” Carlson replied. “You have no right as a citizen of a country controlled by the conquistadors, you don’t get to lecture me.”

Vargas continued, saying that he indeed believes illegal immigrants should not only have access to health care, they should also be allowed to vote because voting, not the Constitution, is truly what makes American democracy work.

“You’re telling me the essence of our country is not our Constitution, it’s letting illegals vote?” Carlson asked while laughing.

Vargas said the essence of our country is truly embracing that notion that everyone can be an American, regardless of where you are born.

“Illegal immigrants built this nation, right?” Vargas asked. “Did Christopher Columbus have citizenship when he came?”

To which Carlson, laughing even more, replied, “He didn’t build the country.”

Vargas tried to score one last point. “We’re all Americans,” he claimed.

“No, you’re not,” Carlson said. “You’re a Mexican.”

Ding, ding, ding. There goes the bell because this match is officially over.

Carlson is a skilled at making liberals look silly in some of the causes they defend, and he’s certainly undefeated in his standoffs with Vargas. Not sure why Vargas enjoys taking the punishment each time, but as they say, there’s no such thing as bad publicity.

It’s easy to see why Carlson barely breaks a sweat in defeating guests like Vargas. When it comes to illegal immigration, the most common tool used is the “we are a nation of immigrants” argument. Which is true if the statement were “we are a nation of legal immigrants.”

But the left never wants to specify any difference between legal and illegal immigration, instead preferring to paint opponents as being against any and all immigration, allowing the “racist” and “xenophobe” labels to be firmly applied.

Predictability always makes an opponent easy to defeat, and the left’s arguments supporting illegal immigration are always easy to predict. Vargas is just the latest example of how silly some of those arguments actually sound.
