Actor, writer and comedian Faizon Love, best known for his role in the hit holiday movie “Elf,” was arraigned Wednesday after an incident at the John Glenn Columbus (Ohio) International Airport on Tuesday, The Columbus Dispatch reported.
Love was charged with assault after brutally attacking a valet in the airport after some sort of disagreement.
Love pleaded not guilty, posted a $2,000 bond and was released.

It’ll be hard to make a case for Love, considering the damning footage that has been released showing the attack:

According to TMZ, Faizon claimed that the reason for his attack was hearing Terrence Artis Gaines II, 24, the man he was about to assault, clearing his throat to spit on him.
That, for the record, is not considered by most courts an adequate reason to toss someone around like a rag doll.

Love, looking back on events, didn’t exactly seem contrite:

“I’m only human no matter how many good days, i’m due to have a bad one, with that being said … i’m big on respect …” he wrote.
I don’t care how many “good” days you have, man, you’re never “due” to beat somebody else to a pulp for some flimsy reason. That’s like arguing to the judge that he should overlook your speeding ticket because you haven’t murdered anyone.
He may have been funny in “Elf,” but nothing he says or does can excuse his behavior.

As for his legal team — all we can say is, good luck.
