Eighth-grader Dr’Breanna Hunter is hanging onto life after being run completely over during a fight just outside Cullen Middle School in South Houston last Thursday.
The vehicle was allegedly driven by a female known by the victim, but police were not immediately able to identify her or make any comment about the incident.
The girl’s mother, Aurelia, told Fox News that she knew who was behind the wheel of the car and was working with detectives to locate her. Aurelia added that the driver of the car would have to ‘answer to a higher judge’ for leaving the scene after the vehicular attack.
Dr’Breanna was in a hospital and with numerous broken bones, and her mother said that her liver was “split in two.”
A fight was going on just before the following video was taken of the incident.
A GoFundMe page was established by the family on Nov. 7 to help pay for family expenses, and the site raised about $1,500 of a $10,000 target in a few days. The request being made comes from the mother who claims to be a mother of four, facing eviction, and unable to afford food for her family.
Comments on the GoFundMe page have ranged from messages of prayer to hostility to people attempting to identify the driver of the vehicle that ran Dr’Breanna over. Several commenters claimed to have investigated the situation and learned that the family was receiving government assistance and was not in danger of eviction.
