Accusation: WaPo Writer Indicates He's Okay If Innocent Man's Punished for Rape

Share

A writer for The Washington Post put himself into the mind of a sexual predator by seeming to imply he would let an innocent man be accused for his crime.

Paul Farhi, writer for The Post, offered his opinion on Twitter regarding new revelations in the accusations made by Christine Ford against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Ford alleges that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party in the early 1980s but only recently came forward with her claims.

On Wednesday, Republicans in the Senate Judiciary Committee revealed that they have interviewed a man who believes he, not Kavanuagh, sexually assaulted Ford, according to Fox News.

This would contrast with Ford’s earlier statements where she claimed she wouldn’t have mistaken Kavanaugh with another student.

Republicans have also spoken to another man with similar claims.

Farhi, seemingly trying to attack the men coming forward, offered his strange thoughts on Twitter.

“Nice of these guys to volunteer that they sexually assaulted a teenaged girl 30-plus years ago, I guess,” Farhi said.

Is this Washington Post writer wrong?

Jim Treacher, Twitter user and pseudonym of PJ Media writer Sean Medlock, brought up a good point.

“Paul has put himself in the other guys’ shoes here. If HE had raped a woman thirty years ago and now saw somebody else being blamed for it, he wouldn’t step forward. He’d let an innocent man be punished for his crime,” Treacher said.

Treacher pointed out that instead of admitting to his sexual assault, Farhi would simply let an innocent man take the heat instead.

It’s not surprising that the left doesn’t care if Kavanaugh is actually innocent or not. He’s a Republican, so they don’t want him on the Supreme Court even if he’s completely innocent.

Farhi’s twisted sexual predator logic isn’t even the best possible criticism of these new revelations.

Instead, Farhi could have mentioned that Republicans are already dubious of the claims.

On Fox News, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham described one of the men as “crazy as a loon.”

However, if one of the men happens to be telling the truth, Farhi’s sarcastic tweet would be even worse.

If a man other than Kavanaugh committed the the sexual assault, he should be encouraged to reveal himself, but Farhi seems to imply the rapist would be wrong to come forward.

I’m going to have to disagree. An innocent man should never take the fall for somebody else’s rape.
