Watch: Bolt of Lightning Strikes Boat, Creates Wild Scene that Stuns Onlookers

Share

The power of God in creation is revealed in many ways. From nature’s might to its beauty, we are reminded of the infinite depth and majesty of God in the making of our amazing universe.

In Massachusetts on Saturday, Harry Minucci got an exceedingly rare opportunity to observe this power in an up-close and personal way.

Probably so up-close it was uncomfortable — maybe even terrifying.

Minucci was watching a storm roll across the South Boston bay when he pulled out his camera. As his camera panned over the Columbia Yacht Club marina, he recorded the shot of a lifetime.

Although lightning had struck in the far distance, Minucci wasn’t expecting such an epic sight to occur.

From the dark storm clouds, a massive bolt of lightning rips through the sky and strikes a small vessel directly in front of Minucci.

Fox News reported the boat’s owner was, fortunately, not on board at the time and that no injuries were reported.

The video illustrates why it is so important to be safe during lightning storms. A strike such as the one that Minucci recorded could prove fatal.

Storms in the Northeast have not relented and have resulted in massive flooding in Washington, D.C.

The above video shows a massive amount of moving water through the streets. But the problems aren’t limited to the surface, as another Twitter user showed flooding breaking through the ceiling of the D.C. subway and pouring onto the tracks.

Nature’s power should always serve as a reminder of the might and strength of our Creator.

The prophet Jeremiah reminds us of this in the 32nd chapter of his writing: “Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.”

G.S. Hair is the former executive editor of The Western Journal and vice president of digital content of Liftable Media.

After graduating law school from the Cecil C. Humphries School of Law, Mr. Hair spent a decade as an attorney practicing at the trial and appellate level in Arkansas and Tennessee. He represented clients in civil litigation, contractual disputes, criminal defense and domestic matters. He spent a significant amount of time representing indigent clients who could not afford private counsel in civil or criminal matters. A desire for justice and fairness was a driving force in Mr. Hair's philosophy of representation. Inspired by Christ’s role as an advocate on our behalf before God, he often represented clients who had no one else to fight on their behalf.

Mr. Hair has been a consultant for Republican political candidates and has crafted grassroots campaign strategies to help mobilize voters in staunchly Democrat regions of the Eastern United States.

In early 2015, he began writing for Conservative Tribune. After the site was acquired by Liftable Media, he shut down his law practice, moved to Arizona and transitioned into the position of site director. He then transitioned to vice president of content. In 2018, after Liftable Media folded all its brands into The Western Journal, he was named executive editor. His mission is to advance conservative principles and be a positive and truthful voice in the media.

He is married and has four children. He resides in Phoenix, Arizona.
